Dear Friends,
We
have much to be thankful for, once again, this Christmas. As we prepare
to celebrate the birth of our Savior and honor the greatest mother of
all, we look back at the many blessings of this past year.
First
and always, we are thankful for our moms who made the beautiful
decision of choosing life for their child. Many of our ladies come to us
struggling through very hard and stressful times. There are those in
their lives who believe they should not have their child. Many of our
moms have families who refuse to give any type of support, or the
child's father is out of the picture and she feels alone. Everyone has
their own story to tell, no two ever quite the same. When a woman who is
feeling scared, hopeless or desperate calls and hears the words "yes,
we will help you" you can hear the sigh of relief. When we show our new
families the home they will be in, you can visibly see the relief. It is
a blessing to offer refuge and hope to women in crisis during a
pregnancy. We have celebrated the birth of approximately 400 babies born
into our homes over the past 16 years. We have also witnessed women's
lives transformed because of their stay at Mary's Shelter.
We
simply could not do what we do for these families without you, our
loyal supporters, prayer warriors and generous donors. We have continued
to grow and serve more women in need because of your support. We are
thankful to each and every one of you.
From all at Mary's Shelter, we wish you a happy, healthy and holy Christmas and New Year!
On behalf of the board of directors and staff,

"Rejoice
and be glad that so great and good a Lord, on coming into the Virgin's
womb, willed to appear despised, needy and poor in this world, so that
men who were in dire poverty and suffering great need of heavenly food
might be made rich in him."
