Personhood in the news
CRT and the Christian worldview
Critical Race Theory (CRT) has critical errors. The problem with Critical Race Theory is not that it isn’t found in the Bible; it’s that it offers a very different explanation of humanity, sin, and redemption than the Bible does. We must communicate and embrace the full ramifications of Christian truth for society, and then act justly and love mercy. The best antidote for the failings of Critical Theory and its inadequate worldview is for the Church to understand and live consistently with the Bible.
Tomorrow's SCOTUS hearing
President Biden’s COVID vaccine mandate, through OSHA, conflicts with the fundamental structure of American government. The mandate would be a striking expansion of government power, forcing Americans to inject a still experimental drug into their bodies against their will and conscience. While there are objections to this mandate on many levels, the Supreme Court is likely to focus, for now, on how the vaccine mandate conflicts with the fundamental structure of our government.
Justifying infanticide as women's rights
Celebrities and international governmental agencies such as the United Nations praised the release last month of women who were convicted of infanticide, claiming that these female perpetrators of infanticide, not their children, were victims of human rights violations. The argument that these women were justified in the deliberate killing of their children is very telling. It seems to confirm what many Christians have known all along — that abortion and infanticide are not that different after all.
Personhood on the ground
What's coming in the push for assisted suicide and euthanasia this year
Our society is quickly progressing down the slippery slope of assisted suicide and euthanasia, and our friends at the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition (EPC) are tracking what is happening this year.
Though it is plagued with corruption, greed, and suffering, physician-assisted death is promoted as humane, compassionate, and of course, an exercise of rights and choice. However, these laws are not about choice or autonomy, but about abandonment of our most vulnerable when they need our protection. Read what the EPC predicts we will be facing over the coming months.
