40 Days For Life: DAY 39: Abortion Is Never Safe

When Roe v. Wade was overturned, Hillary Clinton went on CBS Mornings and proclaimed, "Women will die."

Medical journal The Lancet went even farther, arguing not only that reversing Roe would kill women, but that "[Justice Samuel] Alito and his supporters will have blood on their hands."

More than nine months later, abortion supporters can't name one woman who has died due to abortion bans and restrictions...

...but pro-lifers can name hundreds of women killed by supposedly safe, legal abortions.

40 Days for Life participants are praying for the lives of abortion-bound babies--and of the increasing number of women they've witnessed hauled away from abortion facilities in ambulances.

Concord, California, prayer warriors have seen multiple emergency response vehicles at their local Planned Parenthood this spring.

While abortion advocates claim abortion bans disproportionately drive women of color to unsafe illegal abortions, the Concord team witnessed a black woman leave the abortion facility in an ambulance.

"She seemed to be in a lot of pain," reported Marlene, the local leader. "No one from Planned Parenthood came out. ... The poor lady was all alone in there, no one to hold her hand. No one to console her."

Ann Arbor, Michigan

Prayer warriors in the Great Lakes State have documented a shocking number of ambulance visits.

They list those emergencies on placards to warn Planned Parenthood clients of the risks that await them.

Fortunately, their prayers are being answered. "Just to let you know, I kept the baby," one woman recently announced.

Lansing, Michigan

Just an hour from Ann Arbor, the 40 Days for Life team in Michigan's capital city was approached by a man who thanked them for their prayers and witness.

"He revealed that his sister had died 30 years ago from an abortion forced upon her," wrote Angela. "We were able to pray with him and grieve the loss of his sister and niece or nephew. It just reinforces that we are not only there for the mothers and babies but for all who are wounded by the evil of abortion."

Cherry Hill, New Jersey

Vigil participants in Cherry Hill were praying on site when an ambulance arrived.

"She will be in our prayers," wrote the vigil volunteers.

Granite City, Illinois

"Today, we had two saves and two injuries by 10:30am," reported Joan, the Granite City campaign co-leader. "An ambulance was called, and another woman was in bad shape but helped into a car."

Just a few days later, ANOTHER ambulance showed up.

Richmond, Virginia

In Virginia, campaign participants witnessed an ambulance arrive at Planned Parenthood...

...but their spirits were raised when a woman stopped by to share that she was almost aborted--until her mom "saw people standing outside a clinic years ago."

She had a toddler in the car with her, suggesting a second generation saved by the presence of pro-lifers in front of an abortion center.

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

--1 Peter 1:6-7

Dear Heavenly Father, we sing to You a new song, for You have done marvelous things. Forgive us when we allow circumstances to defeat us. You give power to the faint and You increase strength in those who have no might. We rest in You, dear Lord, and ask You to empower us again for Your service as You work out Your plan for us and through us.
