Partial Reversal of Obamacare Won t End Abortion Funding Concerns
With the Supreme Court expected to issue its decision on the Obamacare health care law on Thursday, the question for the pro-life movement is whether the decision will mitigate the concerns about abortion funding.

Democrats in Congress approved the Obamacare law without any language in the legislation preventing abortion funding. Despite claims from pro-life Democrats who voted for the Obamacare bill, the law allows for abortion funding and pro-life groups warned about such abortion funding during the debate leading up to its passage. In the Senate, Democrats turned back the Nelson amendment to stop taxpayer funding of abortions in Obamacare and the final bill Congress approved and President Barack Obama signed never contained any abortion funding limits.

Obama officials rely on the disproved argument that Obamacare, and a subsequent executive order Obama signed related to it, prohibit taxpayer funding of abortions under the law, even though pro-life groups almost unanimously say the bill and the order are not sufficient to stop abortion funding. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/25/partial-reversal-of-obamacare-wont-end-abortion-funding-concerns/

Woman With Down Syndrome Carries Olympic Torch to London
Now this is something inspirational that can get the world motivated for the upcoming Olympic games in London.

Recently, one of the torchbearers for the 2012 Olympics was Amy Hopkin, who has Down Syndrome. As the folks at Pro-Life UK noted, Amy clearly has a great zest for life and strives hard, as her own sporting record shows. Yet original medical prognosis was all doom and gloom. It is great that Amy has been so well supported by her family so that she and they have been able to show what is achievable. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/25/woman-with-down-syndrome-carries-olympic-torch-to-london/

Pro-Lifers Wait for One of the Biggest Abortion Decisions, Obamacare
Where were you on January 22, 1973? The day the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions were announced by the Supreme Court which made abortion legal, in all 9 months for any reason, in our nation.

I wasn t born yet, but I can imagine what it must have been like for pro-life advocates to wait for that decision and all the emotion they must have felt afterwards. Because I feel like that today.

At this moment, I am standing in front of the Supreme Court with the rest of our team and missionaries on Capitol Hill. Waiting. Waiting to see if today is the day that we find out whether or not Obamacare is constitutional. And whether or not our rights of conscience and freedom of religion will continue to be defended by those charged to protect them. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/25/pro-lifers-wait-for-one-of-the-biggest-abortion-decisions-obamacare/

Sarah Palin Doubles Down on Obamacare-Death Panels Charge
Three years ago Sarah Palin made waves with charges that the Obamacare health care bill would lead to death panels that would rationing medical treatment and lifesaving medical care for patients.

In August 2009, Palin posted a well-received note on Facebook saying she worries the health care bill will be paid for on the backs of the elderly and disabled, who could be pushed into euthanasia and assisted suicide via rationing of medical treatment.

And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course, she said. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/25/sarah-palin-doubles-down-on-obamacare-death-panels-charge/

Mother Dies Who Spared Her Baby From Abortion When Cancer Struck
28 year-old Chiara Corbella has died and at her funeral in Rome, there was joy amid the sorrow. In fact, there was a kind of triumph, of love over life and life over death one of those contradictory signs that makes no sense to an efficient world but is transcendently reasonable to the mind of faith:

Chiara was happily married to Enrico Petrillo. They had already suffered the loss of two children [born with birth defects] in recent years. . .The couple became popular speakers at pro-life events, in which they shared their testimony about the few minutes they were able to spend with their children, David and Maria, before they died.

In 2010, Chiara became pregnant for the third time, and according to doctors the child was developing normally. However, Chiara was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and was advised to begin receiving treatment that would have posed a risk to her pregnancy. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/24/mother-dies-who-spared-her-baby-from-abortion-when-cancer-struck/

Abortion Clinic Mocks God, Offers Sunday Discounts
Upset that pro-life advocates are increasing their presence at abortion clinics on Sundays to help women find abortion alternatives and pray, abortion facilities are apparently now offering women coupons for reduced-cost abortions on the holy day.

On Friday, Pam Tebow attended the event entitled, An Evening with Pam Tebow, sponsored by The Pregnancy Care Center of Martinsville and Henry County. The local newspaper has more on some of her talk. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/06/24/tim-tebows-mom-keeps-pressing-pro-life-cause/
