Proponents of the latest version of an initiative requiring family involvement in a minor's abortion are offering a first place prize of $1000. The 2nd and 3rd place prize is $500, and four honorable mention prizes of $250 each will be awarded. If sufficient money is raised for advertising later in the campaign, winning videos may air on television.

The deadline for submissions has been extended to Sunday, Aug. 31. Contestants need not be from California – or the United States for that matter, sponsors have said.

Entries should be sent to info@FriendsofSarah.com in the form of a posting to YouTube, and the url of the YouTube submission, with appropriate identifying information.

Make your own TV ad," says an announcement of the contest. "With YouTube technology, anyone can make a 30- or 60-second ad -- use the story of a young girl you know, make a spoof of arguments from the other side, use animation, use materials already on FriendsofSarah.com and dramatize them."
