Murder Charges Dismissed Against Abortion Practitioners
State Prosecutor Ellis Rollins today dismissed criminal murder charges against abortion practitioners Steven Chase Brigham of New Jersey and Nicola Riley of Utah. Rollins indicated in a press release that conflicting opinions of expert witnesses made it impossible to proceed with the prosecutions.

As LifeNews has reported, Steven Chase Brigham and Nicola Irene Riley have been charged with murder related to the deaths of viable babies at an illegal secret abortion clinic that the pair operated in Elkton, Maryland. Brigham is currently in the custody at the Camden County Jail in New Jersey and Riley now faces charges of murder related to the killing of healthy, viable late-term babies at a secret late-term abortion business the two operated.

Brigham was charged with five counts of First-Degree Murder and Riley with one count of First-Degree Murder after a botched abortion at a clandestine Elkton abortion clinic alerted authorities to their bi-state late-term abortion ring. Police investigators discovered the bodies of 35 late-term babies stored in a freezer inside the clinic. Brigham is not licensed to practice in Maryland, and Riley was apparently on her second day of late-term abortion training when she perforated the woman s uterus and pulled out her bowel. The patient required emergency surgery to save her life. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/murder-charges-dismissed-against-abortion-practitioners/

Obama Mandate Could Fine Religious Groups $2,000 Per Employee
The new Obama mandate that requires religious groups to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions for their employees could result in fines as much as $2,000 per employee or $100 each day if they refuse to comply.

Recently, Republicans in Congress asked the Congressional Research Service to examine the new mandate and the consequences for employers that do not want to follow it because it would violate their consciences and CRS issued a document finding noncompliant employers could face federal fines of $100 per day per employee.

If a group health plan or health insurance issuer failed to provide contraceptive services pursuant to guidelines authorized by ACA, it seems possible that a plan participant could be able to bring a claim for that benefit, the memo states. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/obama-mandate-could-fine-religious-groups-2000-per-employee/

Obama Drags His Daughters Into Debate Over Limbaugh, Mandate
Just as he did on the issue of abortion when he said he didn t want them to be punished with a baby should they become pregnant pro-abortion President Barack Obama waded into the debate over his mandate and Rush Limbaugh by invoking his children.

Asked a press conference today to respond to the dustup over a derogatory comment the conservative radio talk show host made about a pro-abortion activist, Sandra Fluke, who has been trumpeting Obama s mandate to force religious employers to pay for birth control and drugs that may cause abortions, Obama brought up his children. He had been asked a question about why he called Fluke to tell her he was sorry Limbaugh made the comment.

I thought about Malia and Sasha, Obama said at a press conference Tuesday. And one of the things I want them to be able to do is speak their minds in a civil and thoughtful way, and I don t want them attacked or called horrible names they re being good citizens. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/obama-drags-his-daughters-into-debate-over-limbaugh-mandate/

Cardinal: Obama Admin Lectured Bishops on Catholic Teaching
Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic bishops, has released a public letter today detailing a stunning conversation he and other bishops had with top White House officials about the controversial Obama mandate.

In the letter, Cardinal Dolan relates a shocking meeting in which top Obama Administration asked to meet with the bishops to work out the wrinkles of the mandate. After accepting the invitation and arriving at the White House, the bishops asked whether any ability to broaden the very narrow religious exemptions in the mandate were off the table.

The invited us to work out the wrinkles. We have accepted that invitation, he wrote. Unfortunately, this seems to be stalled: the White House Press Secretary, for instance, informed the nation that the mandates are a fait accompli (and, embarrassingly for him, commented that we bishops have always opposed Health Care anyway, a charge that is scurrilous and insulting, not to mention flat out wrong. ) http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/cardinal-obama-admin-lectured-bishops-on-catholic-teaching/

Pepsi Not Only Company Making Products Based on Fetal Cells
Pepsi is back in the news this week and is coming under criticism from pro-life advocates because it has been contracting with a research firm that uses fetal cells from babies victimized by abortions to test and produce artificial flavor enhancers.

As LifeNews reported yesterday, the Obama administration is set to face more criticism because an agency has declared that Pepsi s use of the company and its controversial flavor testing process constitutes ordinary business. In a decision delivered February 28, the Security and Exchange Commission ruled that PepsiCo s use of aborted fetal remains in their research and development agreement with Senomyx to produce flavor enhancers falls under ordinary business operations.

However, Pepsi is not the only company that is making products that rely on cells from babies killed in abortions. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/pepsi-not-only-company-making-products-based-on-fetal-cells/

Report: Michigan Clinics Violating Dozens of Abortion Laws
Right to Life of Michigan has released a new report documenting abortion clinic abuses and finding that abortion businesses across the state are in violation of dozens of state laws.

Most of Michigan s abortion clinics are not in compliance with dozens of state laws or regulations, the organization notes. The report also cites a vital need for oversight and enforcement on the part of Michigan agencies charged with holding health providers and facilities to account.

The final report culminated months of research and thousands of pages of documents acquired through the Freedom of Information Act. The report demonstrates that many abortion clinics have operated without holding a proper license or were granted a state license without ever being inspected. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/report-michigan-clinics-violating-dozens-of-abortion-laws/

Sebelius, Obama Admin: Reducing People Cuts Health Care Cost
Last week while testifying on Capitol Hill during a budget hearing for Obama s 2013 budget proposal, HHS Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius said: Reducing pregnancies will cut health care costs.

What does this mean? It s means reducing the amount of possible Americans (through birth control) or Americans (through abortion) will reduce money the federal government will have to spend on healthcare costs.

This is the direct result of what happens with the government is in control of healthcare spending. First, they tell you what kinds of procedures you have, what your employers must pay for, and, next, it will be how many children families can have.Think the one-child policy in China is extreme? President Obama and his key advisers are already thinking this way: more people = more costs. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/sebelius-obama-admin-reducing-people-cuts-health-care-cost/

Planned Parenthood Using Online Chats to Deceive Youth

Couple Sues, Doc Didn t Suggest Aborting Baby With Down Syndrome
A couple in Portland are suing Legacy Health because their child has Down Syndrome. This is another of these so-called wrongful birth lawsuits that are so very wrong. The wrongful birth suit is brought by the parents of a sick or disabled child against medical professionals that, the parents say, were negligenthttp://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/couple-sues-doc-didnt-suggest-aborting-down-syndrome-baby/

Slippery Slope of Abortion Now Leading to OKing Infanticide
The specter of the slippery slope is widely considered to be a logical cop-out an intellectually lazy response employed by the rigid and fearful among us (usually conservatives and the religious, of course). Like all enduring metaphors, however, the concept embodied by the slippery slope is quite often proved true. Give em an inch, they ll take a mile is a compelling slogan for good reason. Once an initial barrier is broken, it is difficult to turn back. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/slippery-slope-of-abortion-now-leading-to-oking-infanticide/
