40 Days For Life: DAY 36: The abortion industry refuses to comply.

States across the country have banned all elective medical procedures.
Delaying non-essential surgeries will free up doctors, nurses and medical resources to care for pandemic victims. But Planned Parenthood sees abortion as the solution to everything.
The abortion industry refuses to comply. Planned Parenthood is even suing Texas for designating abortion as non-essential.
You can make a difference by calling your governor to insist that abortion be prohibited as an elective procedure.
Learn more about what you can do if abortion facilities in your state continue to kill babies during the pandemic in today's video blog:

The public vigil has come to an early end, but we continue to share stories from the sidewalk from the campaign's first 25 days.

Upland, California

A youth minister in Upland and his wife visited Planned Parenthood as clients.
Fortunately, they weren't there for abortion--but for other services. The husband approached 40 Days for Life vigil participants to ask for pro-life alternatives to Planned Parenthood, which the volunteers gladly provided.
And it gets better--the youth minister then signed up to participate in the vigil and contacted his pastor to get the church on board.
"We gave him signs and buttons," said Deborah, the local leader. "Who knows how many people will be impacted because of this one meeting?"

Orange, California

A young couple in Orange told vigil participants that they weren't at Planned Parenthood for abortion, but for "some preventative things."
The couple said the Planned Parenthood staff members were unpleasant to deal with and described abortion as "awful."
A sidewalk counselor named Terry offered the couple a brochure with information on pro-life resources. The couple accepted the brochure and left, waving and smiling, shortly thereafter.
"I'm pretty sure they won't return," Terry said.

Staten Island, New York

The first-ever 40 Days for Life vigil on Staten Island has been a success as more than 120 volunteers prayed at the vigil site.
A young man approached vigil participants to thank them for their presence. Years ago, his child was nearly aborted before he saw someone praying at the Manhattan 40 Days for Life vigil.
"His face beamed with happiness as he mentioned his son, who is now six years old!" reported Debbie, the Staten Island leader.

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them. And God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth."
Genesis 1:27-28
Father of mercy and grace, we thank You for the gift of our children. Grant that every fiber of our being may rejoice when a new baby, our own or any else’s, is born into the world. Help us to welcome them as we would welcome You, for whenever a new baby is conceived, another life to bear Your image and another voice to praise and worship You, is beginning.
For life,
