Down Syndrome Bill Advances—
Contact Your State Senator
The Down Syndrome Protection Act, known as House Bill 1500, passed the PA House of Representatives last week by a vote of 120-83. The bill, which would ban abortions for the sole reason of a prenatal diagnosis of Down syndrome, now heads to the PA Senate for consideration. Action Item: Please contact your state Senator and urge him or her to support the Down Syndrome Protection Act. You can contact your Senator by clicking here. House Passes Unborn Child Dignity Act
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives last week passed the Unborn Child Dignity Act, also known as House Bill 118, by a bipartisan vote of 118-83. This compassionate measure ensures the respectful treatment of the remains of babies lost to miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, or stillbirth. The bill's sponsor, Rep. Frank Ryan (R-Lebanon), said, "After my family suffered the loss of a child more than 40 years ago to a mid-term miscarriage, we were further traumatized by the fact that we were not provided the opportunity to claim our son's remains and give him the dignity of a proper burial. Since then, I have heard from countless others who have experienced similar circumstances, and each time, I relive the pain of our loss." You can view Rep. Ryan's floor remarks HERE.

We are pleased to announce that two special pro-life advocates will be honored at our 2021 Celebrate Life Banquet on September 22. Fr. Denis Wilde, O.S.A. of Priests for Life has been selected for the Pro-Life Lifetime Achievement Award for his tireless efforts to protect human life.
Detective Jim Wood, lead investigator in the trial against abortionist Kermit Gosnell, has been selected for the Pro-Life Leadership Award. You can read more about both award winners on page 4 of our new edition of LifeLines.
