40 Days For Life: DAY 27: Years of Prayer Finally Paid Off

As we head into the final third of this Lent's 40 Days for Life vigil, we know of 130 babies spared from abortion thanks to YOUR prayers!

In all their many years praying for an end to abortion, Mary Jo and Brenda had never seen a woman change her mind and choose life in response to their efforts...until now!

"All those years, they trusted God was saving lives even though they had never experienced a save," wrote Michele, our 2020 leader of the year. "God rewarded their faith yesterday. A baby was saved during the time they were out praying!"

A tearful man dressed in military fatigues told Mary Jo and Brenda, "We just couldn't do it!"

The vigil participants offered to pray for the couple and their baby and also shared resources to help equip them to welcome their baby.

That child's father vowed that the family would find a way to work things out.

"All praise be to God!" the prayer warriors exclaimed. "Please keep coming to pray at the sidewalk! Our prayers do make a difference!"

There are two weeks left for you to allow God to use YOU to save a family from abortion:

Even while the U.K. political establishment cracks down on pro-life free speech, God is answering the prayers of 40 Days for Life participants across the country.

"Praise God! They just had a turnaround at Ealing's 40 Days for Life campaign," announced Mike from the local campaign team.

The expectant mother accepted a leaflet from vigil participants, chose life, and then promised to call the local pro-life office for help.

When a young woman in Mexico City learned she was pregnant, her boyfriend scheduled an abortion appointment.

A vigil participant provided her information on an area pregnancy help center. Later, that same volunteer found her sitting down on the sidewalk and approached her to ask if they could talk.

The mom accepted the invitation--and admitted that she wanted to keep her baby in spite of her boyfriend's intentions.

"The girl calmed down and didn't show up to her appointment," said 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela. "Instead she went away determined to have her baby."

Genevieve encountered a young couple who requested more information about their pregnancy.

The bad news is that they were looking for that information at Planned Parenthood--which would love to sell them an abortion. The good news is that Planned Parenthood was closed that day...

...so vigil participants were able to send them to the local pregnancy help center!

"The couple was abortion-vulnerable," wrote Cindi, the local campaign leader. "Had they gone into Planned Parenthood a little later...well...thank God they didn't. And thank God Genevieve reached out to them twice and got them to go to the pregnancy resource center!"

I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you also should love one another.

--John 13:34

Dear Jesus, please instill in me a rich understanding of your love so that I might share it with others. Grant me the courage to open my heart to others. Give me the grace to treat each person as I would treat you. Amen.

For life,
