The Center for Reproductive Medicine (Feb. 16, 2024), has generated a tsunami of synthetic hysteria that has drowned the country in misinformation. Left-wing pundits and politicians, including President Biden in his State of the Union speech, have suggested that the court’s decision made IVF technology illegal in Alabama and would influence other states to do the same. Nothing could be further from the truth. We pro-life people ourselves grieve a later miscarriage more deeply than an early one. We are more outraged at an abortion in which the child is dismembered late in term than we are at an early chemical abortion. From the start, the case has had some significant problems, and the oral argument did not go well for the doctors. In my view, it’s likely that the Supreme Court will dismiss the case.
