Georgia Right to Life Praises House, Calls on Senate to Pass Assisted Suicide Bill

Geogiartl

NORCROSS, Ga., March 7, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Georgia Right to Life (GRTL) President Dan Becker today praised the House of Representatives for voting to protect Georgians from those who prey on the critically ill. The bill passed by a vote of 124-45.

"Helping someone kill themselves because of a medical problem is morally wrong," GRTL President Dan Becker said. "A society that claims to value life cannot allow such a horrendous practice to continue," he added. The measure, HB 1114, sponsored by Rep. Ed Setzler (District 35), now goes to the Senate for consideration. "I urge the Senate to pass the same version as their colleagues in the House approved. The bill is well written; any amendments would weaken it," Becker said.
