Romney Wins Five Republican Primaries, Santorum Three
Mitt Romney won five Republican primaries, including Virginia, on Tuesday night while Rick Santorum also took three contests, including Tennessee, as the two leading GOP candidates continue to battle for the Republican nomination. Alaska was still undecided at press time.

Romney was also the comeback winner in Ohio after early returns put Santorum, who is running on a pro-life platform, ahead of Romney, who is also campaigning on a pro-life position. He led with 38 percent of the vote with 99 percent of precincts reporting, followed by Santorum with 37 percent, Newt Gingrich with 15 percent and Ron Paul with 9 percent. The Associated Press called the race.

Romney also won the Vermont and Massachusetts primaries and the Idaho caucus. Santorum was the victor in Oklahoma s primary and the North Dakota caucuses. For Romney, an Ohio win may help him cement his front-runner status in the nomination battle and show he can carry a battleground state but Santorum promises to continue to contest every state. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/07/romney-wins-five-republican-primaries-santorum-three/

Virginia Gov. McDonnell Signs Abortion-Ultrasound Bill
Governor Bob McDonnell today signed into law a pro-life bill that allows women in Virginia to see the results of an ultrasound that is routinely performed by abortion facilities prior to an abortion.

After the Virginia state Senate approved the bill, the House voted 61-35 for final approval of HB 462 and it moved to McDonnell s desk.

Abortion advocates in Virginia have come under heavy criticism for equating the ultrasound legislation there would allow women to see before an abortion to rape. Yet, while abortion backers say having an ultrasound is like getting raped, a 2003 study shows 99% of Planned Parenthood abortion facilities do them beforehand. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/06/obama-mandate-could-fine-religious-groups-2000-per-employee/

Repeal of IPAB, Death Panels, Moves Forward in House
The repeal of the Independent Payment Advisory Board, which has been derisively called death panels by detractors, is moving forward in the House of Representatives.

Lawmakers on a House health subcommittee began the process of reversing one of the more contentious parts of Obamacare last month when the Energy and Commerce Health subcommittee voted 17-5 to repeal it with pro-abortion lawmakers Rep. Frank Pallone of New Jersey and Rep. Edolphus Towns joining with Republicans to vote to end it.

Then, with support from across the political spectrum, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, by a voice vote, approved H.R.452, which would repeal the IPAB. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/07/repeal-of-ipab-death-panels-moves-forward-in-house/

Pro-Life Student Group Arrested, Jailed on False Charges
Members of the Survivors Campus Life Tour were arrested yesterday during a lawful pro-life outreach at a public high school. It does not matter whether you agree with using graphic abortion images or not, this is a violation of their civil rights and an attack on free speech.

Update 2:30 PM Both Kristina and Brianna are being RELEASED! The judge has decided to release both of the Survivors, trusting them to show back up for a court hearing on April 6th. We are praying that the charges are dropped before that date.

The Survivors was founded by Jeff White who is also my mentor and the co-founder of Rock for Life with me. Jeff is the reason I started in full time pro-life work almost 20 years ago; he is an inspiration to so many young pro-lifers. The Survivors is truly one of the most important youth pro-life organizations in the world. These are my roots http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/07/pro-life-student-group-arrested-jailed-on-false-charges/

Pro-Aborts: Ultrasounds Only Rape if They Prevent Abortion
Virginia recently enacted a new law making theirs the eighth state to require an ultrasound to be performed prior to an abortion. As with other states that have passed similar measures, Virginia s law provides the mother an opportunity to view the ultrasound image of her [baby] prior to the abortion, but it is an option she can decline.

And because ultrasound technology poses a threat to the abortion industry inasmuch as it allows a mother to see the life within her in a way that we couldn t even imagine decades ago supporters of death have been rallying the troops against the progress being made in Virginia and equating such ultrasounds with rape. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/07/pro-aborts-ultrasounds-only-rape-if-they-prevent-abortion/

Pro-Abortion Hackers Anonymous Take Down Vatican Web Site
Members of the hacking group Anonymous took down the Vatican website today in a protest against Catholic doctrine, including its pro-life teachings.

Anonymous decided today to besiege your site in response to the doctrine, to the liturgies, to the absurd and anachronistic concepts that your for-profit organization spreads around the world, the hackers wrote in a message left for Catholic Church leaders on the web site that claims to be the official Anonymous web site. This attack is not against the Christian religion or the faithful around the world but against the corrupt Roman Apostolic Church. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/07/pro-abortion-hackers-anonymous-take-down-vatican-web-site/

Arizona Bill De-Funds Planned Parenthood, Abortion Industry
A bill in the Arizona state legislature that received initial approval from a state House panel on Friday would revoke taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses through the state s family planning program.

The measure would have the state Join Texas, Indiana, New Hampshire and others that have revoked funding for the abortion business to ensure taxpayers are not on the hook for funding an organization that destroys the lives of women and unborn children via abortion.

Rep. Kimberly Yee, R-Phoenix, says state law in Arizona already prohibits taxpayer funding of abortions directly, but she wants to cut off what she called backdoor funding to abortion businesses as well. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/07/arizona-bill-de-funds-planned-parenthood-abortion-industry/
