Dear deaconjohn,
Yesterday's well-attended
March for Life in Washington D.C. is a testament of "faith in numbers."
We find comfort and encouragement in each other in our witness to the
sacredness in life from conception to natural death.
This week, I
am attending a meeting sponsored by the Pontifical Council for the
Family in Rome. The vocation and mission of the family in the Church is
at the heart of this conference, with an eye toward the upcoming Synod
in October. With militant secularism growing around the world, it is
important to discuss the many challenges facing the family.
Drawing attention on HLI's efforts around the world, this week's Spirit & Life highlights Emil Hagamu's fight as he informs Tanzanians about the government's proposed constitutional referendum promoting critical anti-life measures, and Dr. Ligaya's report on Pope Francis' pilgrimage to the Philippines.
This is time to
pray for hearts and minds to be awakened to the Gospel of Life. We can
build a Culture of Life together -- united in prayer.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Shenan J. Boquet
