Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

40 Days For Life: DAY 35: A Lot of Abortion Facilities Are About to Close

You're about to see a lot of abortion facilities go out of business.

Abortion businesses in pro-life states are trying to hold on, desperately hoping a court ruling, injunction, or some other gimmick will keep them afloat. But help is NOT on the way.

FBI persecution, buffer zones, abortion RVs, abortion sanctuary states, and woke male CEOs are NOT going to save the abortion industry.

The tide of history has turned pro-life:

Granite City, Illinois

Illinois is the most abortion-friendly state in the Midwest...

...but that's not stopping 40 Days for Life participants from saving lives in front of the region's most notorious late-term abortion facility!

"I'm keeping my baby!" exclaimed the mother of one of five confirmed babies saved at the facility this fall. "Please tell your group to never stop praying!"

The campaign team also enjoyed a visit from Bishop Thomas Paprocki of the Diocese of Springfield, who led volunteers in prayer.

Lawndale, California

California is another self-proclaimed abortion sanctuary. Proudly pro-choice politicians aren't around to help women heal after their abortions--but Laura and her campaign team are.

"A fellow stopped by to hold a sign and stand for life with us," Laura explained. "He [told us] about a friend who called him the day Roe v. Wade was overturned, in tears because she was all alone. She had two abortions in her youth."

The woman later suffered two miscarriages and wasn't blessed with any living children. "Now in her old age, she is feeling sorrowful," Laura said.

Laura provided the man with post-abortion healing resources to share with his friend. After 45 minutes at the vigil, the man left, eager to help his friend finally begin the healing process.

Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sin is covered. Blessed is the one to whom the Lord shall not impute sin.

Our Most Gracious Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing grace that saved a wretch like me. I come against the enemy of my soul who would have me feel cast down and dejected. Lord, keep Your children from falling prey to the accusations of the father of lies. Turn our mourning into dancing and may we bring praise to You as we give testimony of Your healing and restoration in our lives.

An example of the traditional magisterial teaching which indicates that it is never morally licit to intentionally kill a child through abortion in order to “save the life of its mother” comes from the teaching of Pope Pius XII:

“Every human being, even the infant in the mother's womb, has the right to life immediately from God, not from the parent or any human society or authority. Therefore, there is no man, no human authority, no science, no medical, eugenic, social, economic or moral ‘indication’ that can show or give valid juridical title for direct deliberate disposition concerning an innocent human life-which is to say, a disposition that aims at its destruction either as an end in itself or as the means of attaining another end that is perhaps in no way illicit itself. Thus, for example, to save the life of the mother is a most noble end, but the direct killing of the child as a means to this end is not licit.”
