Did intercession of Junipero Serra save child from death by abortion?
Blessed Junipero Serra, the 18th century Franciscan missionary who is called “the Father of California,” had a reputation for holiness, a reputation which has been investigated, disputed, and handed down from generation to generation for more than 200 years. Now the Archdiocese of Denver has concluded the evidence-gathering phase of an investigation of an alleged late-20th century miracle, which, if authenticated, could pave the way for Serra's canonization.
A Denver-area family has claimed that their daughter, Kayla Rebecca Kellog, now 14, was miraculously cured of severe fetal deformities through Serra's intercession when she was still in her mother's womb.
