Pro-Abortion Obamacare Opposition High as Supreme Court Enters
With one week until the Supreme Court takes a look at Obamacare, which includes taxpayer funding for abortions and a $1 abortion surcharge that has pro-life groups upset, new polling data shows strong opposition.

Two-thirds of Americans in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll want the Supreme Court to throw out the individual mandate or the entire Obamacare law. The poll finds Americans oppose the law overall by 52-41 percent and 67 percent want the high court to scrap all or part of the law.

Independents oppose the law by 51-43 percent, with strong opponents outnumbering strong supporters by 2-1.

The Supreme Court is expected to begin hearings on Obamacare starting next Monday. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/pro-abortion-obamacare-opposition-high-as-supreme-court-enters/

Obama Admin Continues Targeting Pro-Life Activist
The Obama administration lost one round of a legal battle it is waging in court against a Florida pro-life advocate a battle that saw the administration unfairly seek to punish a peaceful sidewalk counselor under a law meant to stop violence and intimidation.

However, that hasn t stopped the Obama administration from continuing to target a peaceful pro-life activist.

Susan Pine is a sidewalk counselor. She counsels women who are considering abortion and provides help, resources, and support for women who choose life. Without any evidence of wrongdoing, Attorney General Holder accused Pine of obstructing the entrance to an abortion clinic in violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act ( FACE ).

Attorney General Eric Holder and the Department of Justice had sought to levy thousands of dollars in fines against the pro-life activist as well as seeking a permanent injunction banning her from continuing her faithful 20-year ministry outside an abortion clinic in West Palm Beach, Florida. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/obama-admin-continues-targeting-pro-life-activist/

Pro-Abortion Groups Raising Big Bucks Off Obama Mandate
Leading pro-abortion organizations and the nation s biggest abortion business are raising big bucks from donors thanks to the new mandate the Obama administration put in place forcing religious employers to pay for birth control and drugs that cause abortions.

The new mandate, which the Obama administration promises it will revise to force insurance companies to pay for the drugs, has sparked strong opposition from pro-life organizations. However, as Politico reports, the pro-abortion political group Emily s List is raising significant sums of money from its donors because of it.

EMILY s List whose mission is to elect pro-abortion rights Democratic women has raised nearly twice as much for candidates at this point in the 2012 cycle as it did during the entire 2010 cycle, according to spokeswoman Jess McIntosh. And that s with about eight months to go.

We are on track to have one of the best first quarters we ve ever had for candidate fundraising, said EMILY s List President Stephanie Schriock. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/pro-abortion-groups-raising-big-bucks-off-obama-mandate/

Abortion Drug Kills Woman in Australia at Marie Stopes
The first woman in Australia has died from a lethal infection contracted after using the deadly RU 486 abortion drug. The abortion pill has killed more than a dozen women worldwide and potential dozes of women across the globe, according to its European manufacturer.

The woman has not been named by government officials but she received the abortion drug at a Marie Stopes International abortion facility in 2010. She contracted streptococcus A infection and died of sepsis at that time but her death is only coming to light now.

The Australian newspaper indicated the case was reported to a coroner, but no inquest was convened. It also reported Marie Stopes International Australia and the Therapeutic Goods Administration refused to release information about the woman s death, citing patient confidentiality. However, the TGA is telling abortion practitioners giving women the abortion drug to step up the treatment they provide following abortions. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/abortion-drug-kills-woman-in-australia-at-marie-stopes/

Groups Call for Repeal of IPAB, Obama Admin s Death Panels
A coalition of moderate and conservative political groups are putting pressure on Congress to approve legislation that would repeal the Independent Payment Advisory Board, which has been derisively called death panels by detractors.

Lawmakers on a House health subcommittee began the process of reversing one of the more contentious parts of Obamacare last month when the Energy and Commerce Health subcommittee voted 17-5 to repeal it with pro-abortion lawmakers Rep. Frank Pallone of New Jersey and Rep. Edolphus Towns joining with Republicans to vote to end it.

Then, with support from across the political spectrum, the House Energy and Commerce Committee, by a voice vote, approved H.R.452, which would repeal the IPAB.

The legislation also falls under the jurisdiction of the House Rules and the Ways and Means committees, came under criticism from both Republicans and Democrats. As Jennifer Popik, J.D., a pro-life attorney with the National Right to Life Committee, noted, even longtime proponent of single payer healthcare, Pete Stark (D-Ca), railed against the IPAB, saying it is a provision I strongly oppose. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/groups-call-for-repeal-of-ipab-obama-admins-death-panels/

Responding to Backers of Abortions on Babies With Disabilities
Reading through the Slate article: Rick Santorum, Meet My Son, I find myself torn. As another mom in the trenches, I can genuinely feel her love for her son, and the agony of watching him suffer. She is in the battle, and in the battle, sometimes all we can feel is the battle. Also, though, I wish we could sit down for coffee and talk about who her baby is, inside.

With my disabled child, I have to be mindful of two realities. One, that his brain is terribly broken; his life is often a battle between life and death, and he is partially blind, nonverbal and prone to life-threatening seizures. The other reality is that he has a spirit, and he is whole and alive on the inside. Over the years, all of us in his extended family have had glimpses into his secret life, the place where his thoughts and his words are. Inside a broken body is a complete soul. He feels, he loves, he dreams. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/responding-to-backers-of-abortions-on-babies-with-disabilities/

Planned Parenthood Supporters Mock Abortion Survivor
Nothing seems to infuriate abortion supporters more than having a face put on that choice. When confronted with the reality of abortion survivors namely, Melissa Ohden, who survived a saline abortion in 1977 pro-choice Planned Parenthood advocates are thrown into a tizzy. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/planned-parenthood-supporters-mock-abortion-survivor/

352 Babies Saved From Abortion in 40 Days for Life Event
In Psalm 126, we read: The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. When we go to pray in front of abortion facilities, we go with joy. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/352-babies-saved-from-abortion-in-40-days-for-life-event/

New York Times: Quit the Catholic Church Over Mandate Opposition
The following is written in response to the advertisement placed in the New York Times on March 9, entitled It s Time to Quit the Catholic Church, by Annie Laurie Gaylor. This morning we learned that the Times rejected an almost identical ad entitled It s Time to Quit Islam. This cowardly hypocrisy on the part of the Times does not surprise us as much as it reaffirms why the former Paper of Record is the former Paper of Record. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/new-york-times-quit-the-catholic-church-over-mandate-opposition/

Planned Parenthood Praising Roe Already Before It s 40
Roe v. Wade will turn 40 next year, leading many to consider how the decision has affected America s women and families. Abortion advocates are already laying the groundwork for what will certainly become a jarring celebration of a life-ending procedure. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/planned-parentood-praising-roe-already-before-its-40/

Chile Considering Legalizing Therapeutic Abortion
The Chilean parliament is currently considering an amendment to the Penal Code that would legalise therapeutic abortion in a country widely acknowledged as having amongst the most stringent abortion laws in the world. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/chile-considering-legalizing-therapeutic-abortion/

Abortionist Can t Just Give Up License to Avoid Discipline
The Maryland Board of Physicians has refused to allow abortionist Nicola Irene Riley to surrender her Maryland medical license on several occasions in order to avoid discipline for her part in Steven Chase Brigham s illegal late-term abortion scheme, according to the liberal, pro-abortion blog, the Daily Kos. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/abortionist-cant-just-give-up-license-to-avoid-discipline/

Idaho Senate Approves Bill for Pre-Abortion Ultrasound
Following a national debate over a similar law in Virginia that allows women to see an ultrasound of their unborn baby before an abortion, the Idaho state Senate has approved a bill allowing women there to see the results. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/19/idaho-senate-approves-bill-for-pre-abortion-ultrasound/
