From 40 Days For Life: DAY 34: "I want my money back!"

image

Please pray for all the moms who've said "yes" to life during this 40 Days for Life campaign!
Our dedicated local leaders say that so far, they are aware of …
366 babies spared from abortion since Day 1!
And talk about last-minute decisions! We know off a couple of cases where the moms changed their minds AFTER they'd paid for the abortions.

Toledo, Ohio

A young woman in Toledo had scheduled an abortion, though it turns out the abortion was more of her boyfriend's idea than her own.
She had made the initial payment at the abortion facility … but after thinking about it, she changed her mind.
"She went back into the facility to ask for her money back," said Peter in Toledo, "and told the staff that she in fact herself does not believe in abortion."
When she left the building, volunteers talked and prayed with her, then directed her to life-affirming community resources.
Peter said this came right after the annual procession to the abortion center, an event that gathers more than 300 participants.

El Paso, Texas

Families at the 40 Days for Life vigil in El Paso vigil learned that a woman – mother to four other children – had scheduled an appointment and paid $450 for the abortion pill.
"Her husband wanted the baby," said Mark, one of the local leaders, "so she was planning on telling him that she miscarried."
After volunteers talked to her, they led her to a pro-life pregnancy help center where she decided to keep her baby.
"This makes six confirmed lives saved in our community," Mark said, "all because people just like you showed up on the sidewalk to pray! I am so grateful to God for each one of you who make these local community prayer vigils possible."

Manhattan, New York

A 40 Days for Life vigil participant glanced over at Planned Parenthood and noticed a security guard standing by the door … which then slowly opened as a young woman left the building.
"She was shaking and holding her arms around herself," the volunteer said. "She was trying to talk on the phone but shaking so much that she looked as though she was going to drop it."
After the vigil participant approached and asked if she needed help, she said, "I want to keep my baby."
She was offered information about the community resources that are available. "That is what I need," she said. "I need help. I have no one."
As they turned the corner to talk privately, the young woman told her story. She is unmarried, she'd lost her job – and her father was threatening to throw her out of their home.
With the vigil participant's support and encouragement, they went together to see the Sisters of Life. "Faith and family are her firm foundation," the volunteer said. "I left her with the sisters – she was no longer shaking but smiling. Please pray for her! God is good!"

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
—John 1:1-3
O God, may we always be quick to call you Father. And when we call you father, let your Spirit remind us that we, and all people, from their beginning to their last day, are your children. We praise you, Father, that you sent your Son to reveal to the world that all people are His brothers and sisters, that all people are your children.
