If you've never done it before, the idea of praying in front of an abortion business can be intimidating.
What is it actually like to pray at a 40 Days for Life campaign?
We answer that question on this week's episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast. SPOILER ALERT: It's actually NOT scary or difficult to join your local 40 Days for Life vigil.
40 Days for Life Outreach Director and longtime Planned Parenthood manager Sue Thayer discusses how she overcame the fear of facing her former coworkers to pray in front of her old workplace. Campaign Director Steve Karlen talks about his much worse excuse for delaying his first visit to the vigil.
Whatever might be holding you back from signing up to pray, take heart. ONE MILLION volunteers have participated in a 40 Days for Life campaign--you can too!

Columbia, South Carolina

Vigil participants in Columbia, South Carolina noticed that Planned Parenthood customers were being turned away at the door. The abortion facility was unexpectedly closed for the day!
"We are thanking God for answered prayers," said Mark, who helps lead the campaign. "We look forward to the day when this facility will be closed for good."

Richmond, Virginia

Ann in Richmond reports that the Planned Parenthood where her team prays saw the number of abortions drop by 475 in the last year!
"Keep coming and keep praying," she exhorted her volunteers. "You make a difference every single day."
Those efforts are contagious. Recently a woman who lives in the neighborhood noticed the vigil...and decided to join!

Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So, too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.
—Luke 10:30-34
Father, we are moved by the lesson of the Good Samaritan, who allowed compassion to influence him more than fear. Give us the same heart. Grant that we may never count the cost of standing up and speaking out for the unborn.
