The year 2020 has been like no other. The coronavirus has hit the entire economy hard, including the non-profit sector. We at Women’s Rights Without Frontiers have felt the hit as well, and donations are down.
In these uncertain times, will you consider making an extra-generous donation so that we can continue our life-saving work for the women and babies of China?
Many of our events this year had to be canceled. We were scheduled to host two events at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Both of these had to be canceled because of Covid.
Meanwhile, the CCP has ramped up forced abortion and sterilization, especially of Uyghur women in Xinjiang. These women need our advocacy and help. I recently was able to meet with high-ranking officials at the United States Department of State and the White House about these terrible abuses.
As you know, we are the only organization in the world that has a network on the ground inside China saving baby girls and widows. Because of Covid, our work is more important than ever before. We help so many poor farm families, barely scraping an existence from a small plot of land. The lockdown in China stopped trucking. The farmers had no transportation to sell their vegetables, which just rotted in the fields.
Now, many of these families are in a state of financial crisis. We know several cases of families who have been tempted to “give away” a second or third daughter during this time of crisis. We are coming to the rescue with much-needed monthly stipends, enabling these families to survive the storm and keep their baby girls safe and healthy.
The CCP is requiring elderly widows to renounce their faith in order to receive small, survival stipends! In our area, we are stepping in and supporting these widows, encouraging them in their faith. One widow told our fieldworker, “I believe you are an angel, sent by God!”
So, our work in China, and our advocacy against forced abortion and sterilization, are all the more crucial in these perilous times. Please, help us continue our life-saving work by making your most generous donation now!
With gratitude for your generosity,
