40 Days For Life: DAY 15: Protested the Vigil...then Joined It!

Exodus 2:3

Another Legal Victory: Earlier this month, a court issued a temporary injunction ordering pro-abortion advocate Brooke Dietrich and her supporters to cease and desist further unlawful attacks against 40 Days for Life, including filling Vigil calendars with no intent to participate, filling shopping cart(s) in the 40 Days for Life Store with no intent to purchase, publishing personally identifiable information about 40 Days for Life personnel, and encouraging others to do the same. Last week, we won in court AGAIN as the judge extended the injunction until further notice.

Last week, radical activists used International Women's Day to push for even more abortions.

Rocío in Juticalpa, Honduras was praying at the 40 Days for Life campaign she leads when an International Women's Day march passed by her vigil. A number of march participants criticized her.

"Why don't you defend women's rights?" one of the women's march attendees demanded to know.

Rocío calmly responded that she DOES defend women's rights--starting with the little women in the womb. She then explained why being truly pro-woman means being pro-life.

The message was on-point. Two of the pro-abortion feminists left the women's march to pray with Rocío at the 40 Days for Life vigil.

And they vowed it wouldn't be the last time, promising to return to pray and witness for an end to abortion!

Johnstown, Pennsylvania

Chelsey is leading the first-ever 40 Days for Life campaign in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. "We are off to a great start praying outside of Planned Parenthood," she said.

Passersby have responded positively to the vigil--even giving prayer warriors free coffee--but somebody stopped to ask why vigil participants can't work with Planned Parenthood to help women.

The question prompted a discussion about how Planned Parenthood isn't in the business of helping women--but selling abortions.

"This woman said that her mind was changed about Planned Parenthood and she would never send her daughter there," Chelsey reported. "We are already changing hearts [and have] brought together pro-lifers who have never done anything like this before! I can’t wait to see what the next weeks have in store for us!"

Boston, Massachusetts

40 Days for Life campaigns truly do unite the Body of Christ.

The Boston team solicited prayers from around the globe.

"We ask people to have Masses said 'for an end to abortion and the success of the 40 Days for Life Campaign,'" said Rita, the Boston campaign leader. "Someone requested Masses from this lovely priest in Uganda, who sent pictures of his church and parishioners."

So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. But when she could no longer hide him, she took an arc of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

— Exodus 2:3

Heavenly Father, you are the God of all comfort and the light yoke. Help us to share the good news of the Gospel and the gospel of life. Give us compassion for the weary, those without hope, living in fear.

Help us deliver Your Word in the right way, the right spirit, with compassion so women will put their trust in you and have their children adopted. To God be the glory! Amen.
