Recent actions by the nation’s government drug approval agency and the words of certain anti-life leaders reveal that the popular version of fact is akin to telling lies in order to snare the unsuspecting. This tactic reminds us of the warning Christ gave to His disciples when He said, “Fear him rather who can destroy both body and soul in hell.”
When the father of lies is reporting the facts, the truth becomes the first causality. And while the following may not be news to you, keep in mind that you probably know many folks who need to hear these facts and act on them. Their eternal destiny may depend on it.
The Food and Drug Administration recently approved a daily oral contraceptive pill for use without a prescription. This over-the-counter pill, known as Opill, is clinically known as norgestrel. While some have suggested that this pill is abortive, meaning that it may work to kill a preborn child prior to implantation, the truth is that nobody knows with certainty because the information about this pill is as bare as a newly shaven head!
The website DRUGBANK says, “Once bound to the receptor, progestins like levonorgestrel will slow the frequency of release of gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus and blunt the pre-ovulatory LH (luteinizing hormone) surge. Loss of the LH surge inhibits ovulation and thereby prevents pregnancy.” But we can tell you that there are no facts about any actions of this chemical other than the suspect comment we have just quoted.
The National Institute of Health’s National Library of Medicine admits that the effects of this drug on implantation “are unclear, and the relevance of this mechanism to the therapeutic efficacy of levonorgestrel is contentious.”
In other words, this drug will be sold over the counter, but nobody knows how it actually works or what the long-term side effects may be, including impact on pregnancy at implantation. Thus, it is safe to say that the government has stepped in to become the agency of potential over-the-counter killing.
And then there is the case of Illinois Planned Parenthood president Jennifer Welch, who whined about the state of Iowa’s alleged six-week abortion ban. Welch said, “Abortion bans and restrictions do not stop people from having abortions, it just creates unnecessary and burdensome barriers to those most vulnerable like young people, immigrants, people living in poverty and people facing domestic violence.” She went on to promote her state’s organization, inviting Iowa’s expectant mothers to come to Illinois. She stated, “Our doors are open and we are actively preparing for the waves of pregnant Iowans fleeing their home in search of care.”
Oh the drama! And oh the lies!
It is obvious there is a hellish place in Planned Parenthood’s history that has spawned so many practitioners and spokespeople who have fallen for Margaret Sanger’s brand of fact. As Sanger once said, “Woman must have her freedom, the fundamental freedom of choosing whether or not she will be a mother and how many children she will have. Regardless of what man’s attitude may be, that problem is hers—and before it can be his, it is hers alone.”
Ridiculous but painfully evident in what we are seeing in our own day.
While some have hailed Sanger’s work as though she were a saint, even naming an award in her honor, others have rightly defined her comments, her words, and her deeds as eugenic. Sanger favored selective breeding of people as though they were mere animals.
Sanger, those at Planned Parenthood who carry on her mission, and the government workers and agencies that deceptively approved Opill have one thing in common. Such people have little to no regard for sound ethical principles. They are individuals who make it their task in life to market a false concern for women and their rights without apology. In truth, once we peek beneath the veneer, their agenda is focused on controlling people and eliminating those they suggest are experiencing an unintended pregnancy.
Such charlatans must be exposed over and over again because, sadly, they prey on the minds and hearts of the apathetic. And that is where we come in. Let us strive to wake up such folks and remind them that, as Christ has said, hell is a real place, and that type of suffering lasts forever.
