40 Days For Life: DAY 15: Cringe!

As more states act to protect life in the womb, the abortion industry's rhetoric is growing increasingly desperate, bizarre, and pathetic.

Recently, Stacey Abrams absurdly argued that the sound of an unborn baby's heart beating is "manufactured."

Frankly, it's embarrassing.

On this week's episode of The 40 Days for Life Podcast, we countdown the 7 most cringeworthy defenses of abortion:

Tune in for a big dose of secondhand embarrassment as we expose:

  • The world's most scientifically illiterate explanation of when life begins;

  • The insane claim that getting an abortion is no different from washing your hands;

  • Why the same abortion advocates who demand pro-lifers trust women condescendingly silence the voices of the women who know the most about the pain of abortion.

Speaking of embarrassment, if you missed yesterday's video blog, check out this clip highlighting the uncomfortable parallels between Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's push to ban 40 Days for Life and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un: youtube.com/watch?v=9Fr-YKo1yLA.

Toronto, Ontario

When a country legalizes abortion, it's only a matter of time before other abuses against human life arise.

A Toronto 40 Days for Life participant received a desperate email from a woman begging for prayers for a loved one, who was scheduled to end his own life through assisted suicide.

"This young man has diabetes," explained Daiana, the local leader. "He lost his sight in one eye and did not want to continue further with his life. The procedure was supposed to take place yesterday!"

The 40 Days for Life team rallied everyone they could to pray for the young man--and the suicide was called off. "[He] was saved thanks to the prayers of people who believe that every life has dignity in the eyes of the Lord!" Daiana exclaimed.

New York, New York

Bishop Peter Byrne of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York celebrated a Mass for 40 Days for Life campaigns across the metropolitan area.

From Manhattan to Staten Island to White Plains, the Big Apple is a hotbed of 40 Days for Life growth.

Manhattan leader Laurie reported three babies have already been saved in front of Planned Parenthood's flagship abortion facility.

So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. But when she could no longer hide him, she took an arc of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.

--Exodus 2:3

Heavenly Father, you are the God of all comfort and the light yoke. Help us to share the good news of the Gospel and the gospel of life. Give us compassion for the weary, those without hope, living in fear.

Help us deliver Your Word in the right way, the right spirit, with compassion so women will put their trust in you and have their children adopted. To God be the glory! Amen.
