40 Days For Life: DAY 26: You're Making Headlines

Abortion thrives when it can hide in the shadows...

...but thanks to YOU, the treachery of the abortion industry is being exposed, and lives are being saved!

Your prayer, fasting, community outreach, and peaceful vigil are making local, national, and international headlines. Here's a sampling of the press coverage you've earned during this fall's campaign:

Not all of the media coverage is positive, fair, or even honest. But as the saying goes, there's no such thing as bad publicity.

Even negative stories highlight that abortion is controversial...and that can cause a woman to have second thoughts before going through with it!

Warren, Ohio

The second half of the fall campaign can get cold and wet for much of the world, and that has certainly been the case in northeastern Ohio.

Cathy braved biting winds, rain, and even sleet to pray--even though Planned Parenthood was closed. Her witness made an impact on the community as a man stopped to thank her for her presence and present her with a steaming cup of hot chocolate--complete with whipped cream. She was also serenaded with many positive car horn honks and thumbs up.

Another day, a young couple arrived at Planned Parenthood--but when they saw Camille's sign, they drove away.

The couple returned a little while later, read Mary's "You Don't Have to Do This Today" sign, and left again.

"They drove off and did not return," Mary said. "I'd like to think they had a change of heart--PERMANTENTLY!"

El Cajon, California

The El Cajon vigil received a visit from the local chapter of "Knights on Bikes."

"Knights on Bikes is a fraternal organization," explained Vicki, the longtime El Cajon campaign leader. "These are men of faith in action, who serve, defend, and pray. Their presence was definitely powerful!"

Annapolis, Maryland

The Annapolis 40 Days for Life team recently held its semi-annual "Cross Walk for Life."

"Beginning with prayer at St. Paul Lutheran Church, team members and volunteers carried white crosses to memorialize the 63 million babies lost to abortion since 1973," shared Tony, the local leader.

After a nearly two-mile walk, the event concluded back at the church with prayer, fellowship, and lunch.

"The Cross Walk achieved its objective to expose the devastation of abortion to the local community," Tony continued. "Praise be to God for gathering the faithful, leading us, and protecting us."

These all wait for you, that you may give them their food in due season, what you give them they gather in; you open your hand, they are filled with good. You hide your face, they are troubled; you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. You send forth your Spirit, they are created; and you renew the face of the earth.

--Psalm 104:27-30

Beloved Father, remind us today that there is no truth but you. Do not let us fall prey to the evil one’s lie that we may choose death. Remind us right now that you, who created all life, are in control of all life, and let us choose life always. Keep lighting the pathway home, for us and for all who participate in this 40 Days for Life campaign.
