40 Days For Life: DAY 25: Quit on Her 1st Day at Planned Parenthood

 

 

Nobody grows up wanting to work at an abortion facility. A young, "very pregnant" woman approached prayer warriors at a West Coast 40 Days for Life location to ask for directions. It was her first day of work at Planned Parenthood, and she needed help finding the office. Though the woman was a Spanish speaker and vigil participants spoke English, they bridged the language gap using a phone. "My friend explained to her that this was an evil place and they kill babies," reported the local campaign leader. "She then said she wasn't going in there."

Campaign volunteers asked the suddenly unemployed expectant mother whether she needed assistance and directed her to the pregnancy help center across the street. "She did come out with some goodies," said the local campaign leader. The woman also took a picture of the leader's abortionworker.com sign, which refers to the organization Abby Johnson started to help former abortion workers find new jobs. "God is so good, and I'm so glad He intervened today," the local leader said.

Plainfield, New Jersey Lisa said when the local abortion doctor arrives at work, he mocks her with an exaggerated wave and a devious smile. Recently, the abortionist arrived in a new car--with a custom license plate that's a double entendre referring to killing. "Will he ever see the truth?" Lisa asked. "Praying for him, the staff, the mothers, fathers, and babies."

Potosi, Bolivia A young woman, well into her second trimester of pregnancy, arrived at the abortion facility weeping bitterly. "She was determined to have an abortion," shared 40 Days for Life director of Latin American campaigns Lourdes Varela. "She listened, but left." Though it appeared the baby had been lost, the mom returned a week later to thank the volunteers and to share that she had abandoned the idea of aborting her baby!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. --Galatians 6:9 God, we can’t decrease the number of abortions in a transformative way without You working behind the scenes to change the human heart. Please strengthen Your churches and parishes to lead with love and compassion. Please strengthen our pastors and priests to lead with grace and courage, and please strengthen me today. Lord, please help me trust in Your sovereign purposes and plant seeds that lead to discipleship.
