40 Days For Life: DAY 16: Traveled 1,000 Miles for Abortion, Until...

Planned Parenthood is betting women in pro-life states will travel the country for abortions. You can make sure the gamble doesn't pay off.

A Florida mother decided to abort her 19-week-old son...but in the Sunshine State, abortion is now illegal after 15 weeks. So she found a late-term abortion specialist in New Jersey and an abortion fund that paid for her to travel up the coast for an abortion.

The mom checked in at her appointment and even received the drugs to numb her to the gruesome two-day procedure. Then she got nervous. Fortunately, Lorraine and John were standing vigil and empowered the mother to change her mind.

There was just one problem: The woman needed a way to get home.

But I bet you can guess how the story ends.

Local pro-lifers rose to the occasion, buying the plane tickets.

"We were able to book a flight from Philadelphia to Miami for the very same evening," shared Claire, who leads both the local 40 Days for Life 365 vigil and the local Helpers of God's Precious Infants group.

Upon landing, the woman texted the Cherry Hill team to let them know she and baby are safely back home!

Arizona

The post-Roe era has been a roller coaster ride in Arizona, as courts alternately uphold and strike down the state's abortion ban.

"We are going to get whiplash in Arizona!" said longtime Phoenix co-leader Ellen.

During the stretches when abortion is illegal in Arizona, Nancy said the abortion facility where she stands vigil refers clients to an abortion business in Las Vegas.

Even when the abortion law is in effect, the Phoenix City Council called for authorities to deprioritize enforcement. Dispatchers were told not to send patrol cars to respond to illegal abortions.

"It underscores the urgency of our peaceful, prayerful presence," said Nancy, the longtime leader in Phoenix.

New Haven, Connecticut

Earlier this week, the Sisters of Life joined the New Haven 40 Days for Life campaign, near the Yale campus.

"It was such an incredible witness for life," reported Allie, who is leading her first campaign. "Their presence is such a stark contrast to the harsh and bustling New Haven area."

Pro-life students at Yale or any other U.S. college: Don't forget to apply for 40 Days for Life's 4040 Scholarship--$4,040 toward tuition for a student active in the pro-life movement--at 40daysforlife.com/scholarship.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

--Matthew 11:28

Father, hear our prayer! Snatch desperate mothers from the fire. Bring them out of our abortion businesses and into our pregnancy help centers. Deliver them from evil. Use us to help them choose life and see your hand of provision.
