"Now closed every other Wednesday and on Saturdays"
San Diego prayer warriors report three turn-arounds in one day, say business at FPA abortion clinic "exceptionally slow"
News from the Trenches
We were blessed with seven prayer warriors and two sidewalk counselors at Family Planning Associates in San Diego on Saturday, Oct.18, and were most blessed with three miraculous turn-arounds! It was another exceptionally slow day for FPA on a Saturday, with approximately 15women (at most) going into the mill.
Vita, a sidewalk counselor and prayer warrior, started off the morning by talking with the first two women who arrived at the mill. She spoke to them about Dr. Santella's history of gross negligence and malpractice, and then showed them the pink flier illustrating the six-week-old unborn baby. One of the woman asked Vita some questions about abortion that led her right into talking about adoption as a much better option. The one woman told her that she knew of a family member who placed her child for adoption and that child was abused. Vita told the woman how sad that was, and then said that was not usual, explaining how we refer to a very reputable adoption center. The women listened intently, took the information and drove in.
They parked at the farthest end of the lot away from the mill and sat in the car, appearing to discuss everything. The older woman exited the car followed by the younger woman. Then they both walked up the stairs; the younger woman, clearly slower and hesitant. When they got to the front doors of the mill, they hesitated, looked around, and within minutes came right back down and went into their car. Though they sat in their car quite a while, they never came out of the car again and, after a while, drove out, not talking to anybody. They never came back.
A little while later, another car drove in with two young women. They were laughing nervously when they drove up to me and stopped long enough for me to show them the medical history of Santella and tell them of testimonies of women I had spoken to who had bad experiences at this mill, as well as to show them the pink flier on the effects of an abortion. They took it all and drove in. One of the young women got out of the car and went up to the mill. The second young woman drove up to me and, when she did, I handed a rosary and said, "Your friend doesn't have to do this. There's so much help for her. Let us help her." Her friend looked sad, though said nothing. She took the rosary and drove off.
For the next 45 minutes or so, other cars pulled in and I was able to pass out fliers and rosaries. The young woman whose girlfriend I had spoken to came out of the mill several times, going up and down the elevator, appearing agitated or nervous. After a while, she remained downstairs. Her girlfriend drove back into the parking lot, passed me, and drove right up to her friend waiting downstairs. Since her girlfriend never spent much time inside the mill, I didn't see how she could have had the abortion, so when they pulled up to me, I asked her if she did, and with both of them smiling and appearing relieved, she said, "No, I didn't." Smiling myself, I handed her a rosary, some information on Culture of Life Family Services, as well as explaining how much help there was for her. She took the information, thanked me and they drove off.
A while went by and a young woman drove in with a man and young child in the back. When I went to show her the blue flier, she told me this was a return visit, that she had the abortion, and that she had to return because (as was the testimony of another young woman I spoke with) he had performed an incomplete abortion and she had to return for a second procedure. When she told me this, I explained to her I had spoken to another young woman who had to return three times for the same reason and just how dangerous it is, encouraging her to report this to the medical board because it may be gross negligence or malpractice. She asked me if this other testimony was recent and I said it was. She looked very sad and remorseful. Before she drove in, I handed her a rosary.
Today, there was a strong feeling of intense spiritual warfare; more so than usual.
There is a man who works on one of the buildings at the Pyramid who is staunchly pro-life and for the past two weeks, when he passes, he stops to tell me how he hates that there is an abortion mill right in the middle of all these buildings. Last week, I handed him a rosary and asked him to join us in prayer. He said he had to go back to work, that he was just coming back from his break. This week, on his break, he did join us in prayer, accepting another rosary from a prayer warrior. He knelt and prayed with great sincerity and then returned to his scaffolding job.
Another young woman drove in later in the morning. When she did, she had a look of hate and anger all over her and she was clearly agitated. I handed her a rosary and said "God bless you." She took the rosary, yelled some obscenity, spat at me, and then drove in yelling all the way up to the front of the mill. The interesting part was that she took the rosary. Our Blessed Mother is always more powerful. I knew, at that exact moment, there was going to be another turn-around this morning.
Thanks be to God and His Blessed Mother, about 10 minutes later, the third miraculous turn-around happened! A young woman and young man arrived at the mill in two separate cars. They both went up to the balcony of the mill, but a big discussion or argument was going on between them. It appeared as if he wanted to go in and she did not. This went on for quite a while. One of the prayer warriors was also witnessing this, and mentioned that the young girl was very animated and kept pointing to the prayer warriors and the banner of Our Lady of Guadalupe in whatever she was saying to her boyfriend. Eventually, they separated and she never went into the mill. They both left in separate cars and never returned.
Thank you to the seven public prayer warriors who came for prayer support on Saturday, to all those praying, though unable to be physically present, and to all those fasting and praying during the 40 Days for Life. FPA is now closed every other Wednesday and on Saturdays. They are not as busy as they used to be, with lives being saved weekly. Miracles are happening at FPA!
Please continue to pray for the three women who did not have the abortions, that they continue in their resolve to choose life for their unborn babies, for all the women who did have the abortions and for the conversion of Robert Santella and his staff.
In Christ thru Mary,
