Hearing Focuses on Victims of China s One-Child Policy
China s brutal one child policy and its gross violations of human rights, particularly those of women subjected to forced abortions and sterilizations, were the subject of a hearing before the U.S. House on Thursday.
The hearing comes in the wake of Vice President Joe Biden s widely reported, controversial comments during an official state visit to China last month. Speaking to a Chinese audience, Biden said he was not second guessing the policy, indicating what New Jersey Republican Rep. Chris Smith said was the Obama administration s apparent lack of concern for the oppressive policy.
Smith, chairman of the House subcommittee that oversees human rights and chairman of the Congressional-Executive China Commission, held the hearing entitled China s One-Child Policy: The Government s Massive Crime Against Women and Unborn Babies. Smith calls China s one child policy cruel and barbaric noting that pregnant women without birth permits are hunted down and there are no single moms in China.
Smith also said he is concerned Chinese officials will begin attritioning the surplus of men following sex-selection abortions and infanticides targeting girls that has resulted in a massive gender imbalance through war by forcing them to serve in the military and making them participate in armed conflicts.
Witnesses testified about China s harsh population control program. Abortion Practitioners in California Lose Licenses Over Problems
Two abortion practitioners in California have lost their medical licenses with one facing revocation and another facing suspension for problems ranging from alcohol abuse to criminal felony convictions that made them untrustworthy as physicians.
Jesse James Joplin has worked for the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte abortion business for 27 years, but new documents from the California Medical Board this month indicate Joplin had his licensed revoked after repeatedly violating probations imposed by the board. The medical board issued an interim suspension order July 25 making it so his days as a supervising physician at Planned Parenthood-Mar Monte in San Jose and now his license have been taken away permanently.
The state medical board, months ago, cracked down on Joplin over a series of alcohol-related convictions over the last few years starting with a California Highway Patrol officer finding marijuana and alcohol in his vehicle during a 2007 traffic stop for speeding. Joplin pleaded no contest, according to the newspaper, on charges of reckless driving involving alcohol, drugs, or both.
Joplin was again arrested after his erratic driving prompted motorists to call authorities in September 2009 and a March 2010 incident resulted in a misdemeanor conviction of drunken driving and he reportedly chose to go to jail rather than perform community service.
The medical board reportedly took its initial actions against Joplin on April 22 but also issued a stay of its decision and placed Joplin on probation for seven years. The decision at that time made it so, if Joplin violated any of the conditions of his probationary status, his medical license would be suspended. Those conditions included complete abstention from drugs and alcohol, random urine testing four times monthly, a psychiatric evaluation, monitoring from an independent physician, and relinquishing his role as a supervising doctor. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/22/abortion-practitioners-in-california-lose-licenses-over-problems/
Abortion Business Near Portland, Oregon Reportedly Closes
One of the two abortion businesses operated by long-time Oregon abortion practitioner Peter Bours, who began doing abortions in the state in 1975, has reportedly closed.
Bours, according to 40 Days for Life national spokesman Shawn Carney, has closed his abortion center in Forest Grove, a suburb west of Portland, although he continues operating an abortion business in Eugene.
In Forest Grove, Oregon, the local 40 Days for Life team confirmed that the owner of the abortion center had closed this facility and one of his other locations as well. Volunteers told me the signs are down, the building is empty and a phone call confirmed the permanent closure, Carney said.
The Bours web site seems to corroborate that report, saying, We have had offices in Forest Grove, Portland, and Eugene but now see patients only in Eugene.
Gayle Atteberry, the director of Oregon Right to Life, told LifeNews today she is delighted with the news that an abortion facility in her state has closed. This is a significant victory, as Peter Bours has been Oregon s infamous late-term abortionist for many years. Pro-Life Sam Brownback Endorses Rick Perry for President
Rick Perry has picked up the endorsement of a former 2008 presidential candidate who made pressing pro-life themes the hallmark of his campaign: pro-life Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback.
The Midwestern governor endorsed his fellow Republican governor today and, tonight, Brownback is expected to attend the GOP presidential debate as Perry s guest. Brownback s endorsement makes him the third governor who has indicated support for Perry, following Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal and Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval.

New PowerPoint Helps Explain Abortion-Breast Cancer Link
Democrats in the U.S. Senate have introduced new legislation to permanently ban the pro-life Mexico City Policy, which prevents the federal government from funding international groups that promote and perform abortions.
The policy, which President Barack Obama ditched during his first week in office, has been in place when pro-life Republican presidents have held office starting with Ronald Reagan and has been revoked by pro-abortion Democrats Obama and Bill Clinton.
Planned Parenthood is one of the major recipients of millions of dollars through the State Department and the USAID program and the abortion business refused to stop doing abortions or lobbying other nations to change their pro-life laws during the Bush administration so it could receive funds for non-abortion family planning services.
A House committee approved legislation that would restore the policy, but pro-abortion Senators Barbara Boxer, a California Democrat, and Frank Lautenberg, a New jersey Democrat, have introduced the so-called Global Democracy Promotion Act, that would permanently ban what Boxer derisively calls the Global Gag Rule, because it prohibits abortion businesses from promoting abortion on the taxpayer dime. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/22/new-powerpoint-helps-explain-abortion-breast-cancer-link/
Police Want Records in Planned Parenthood-Statutory Rape Case
Police in Spokane, Washington have served the Planned Parenthood abortion business with a search warrant looking for information in yet another case of Planned Parenthood doing an abortion that potentially covers up a case of sexual abuse.
The abortion business has come under fire for years for not identifying young women who are victims of statutory rape and not reporting those rape cases to authorities for prosecution. Knowing they can hide evidence of their crimes, criminals have taken young women to Planned Parenthood for abortions that could potentially hide their DNA and prevent officials from proving cases against them.
In this case, the parents of an unidentified 15-year-old girl, who became pregnant by a 21-year-old man in August, took her to Planned Parenthood for an abortion after learning from a school nurse that their daughter was pregnant. Now, police, who have gotten involved in the case, want Planned Parenthood to turn over DNA from the remains of the baby killed in the abortion to connect the man to the possible statutory rape charges.
KREM indicates the man is charged with third-degree rape and police want the Washington State Crime Lab to examine the DNA from the unborn baby. New Video Highlights Obama-Planned Parenthood Relationship
The Susan B. Anthony List has released a new video exposing the close relationship between pro-abortion President Barack Obama and the Planned Parenthood abortion business.
The SBA List criticizes the close relationship between the president and his political ally, the largest abortion business in the United States. After key groups of his base supporters have abandoned him, Planned Parenthood remains closer than ever to the President, the video says and it calls on Americans to turn off the music by supporting efforts to revoke Planned Parenthood s taxpayer funding.
