Dear John,
We just started contacting the companies advertising on "The Playboy Club" TV series...and one of them already responded to us saying they've dropped their ads for the rest of the season! You should note that this company is Lenovo.
I knew that our united efforts would yield powerful results! Before the show even started, many of you helped us contact NBC's usual top-five advertisers asking them not to fund this blatant exploitation of women. Four of these companies are NOT RUNNING ADS NOW! (Proctor & Gamble, AT&T, Verizon and L'Oreal USA)
Together, we are making a difference. Not only will we succeed in getting this show pulled from the air, but through this effort, your help is also raising awareness about the considerable harms of pornography on society. Many people are starting to listen and then join with us. Please continue to support these efforts where you can!
Will you do these three easy things today?
Go to www.CloseTheClubonNBC.com and contact all the current advertisers of the show. They surely don't want to associate their brand with the Playboy Philosophy.
Make a financial contribution of $25, $50, $100 - or more - to help keep the success going. We're so close!
Forward this information to your friends and family. Get them to contact the advertisers too!
If you're looking for some more reasons why we MUST fight against the continuation of this show, be sure to read anti-porn activist and feminist leader, Dr. Gail Dines' latest editorial, "Yes, The Playboy Club IS That Bad."
Let me know what the companies say in response to you, please: grassroots@pornharms.com.
Your friend,
Dawn Hawkins
Executive Director
P.S. Just the other night, our interns had a Twitter chat with one of the show's actresses, "Bunny Jane," who says they're just "portraying a moment in history." (See some of the conversation here.): http://cts.vresp.com/c/?MoralityInMediaInc./c92c192399/c25fa57283/3cd9f9ade9
