Hearing: Minor Girls Taken to Other States for Secret Abortions
A U.S. House hearing today focused on a bill that would help stop a pervasive practice by abortion businesses and pro-abortion activists of taking minor girls for secret abortions in other states without their parents knowing.

Lawmakers have introduced the Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act that would help states across the country better enforce their parental involvement laws on abortion that require teen girls to get their parents permission or notify them about a decision to have an abortion. The legislation is needed as sexual abusers, family members and even staff at abortion centers routinely take teenage girls across state lines for secret abortions without their parents knowledge or permission.

This morning, the House Constitution Subcommittee held a hearing on the legislation.

Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, a Florida Republican, has introduced CIANA in each Congress since 2005 and the bill currently has 151 cosponsors. She says CIANA would make it a federal crime to transport a minor across state lines for the purposes of having an abortion and circumventing the parental consent/notification laws of the minor s home state. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/08/hearing-minor-girls-taken-to-other-states-for-secret-abortions/

Abortion and Pro-Life Issues a Key to 2012 Election
The pro-life movement has long recognized abortion as the most important and fundamental issue of our day. For good reason, a candidate s position on the right to life has weighed heavily in the voting booth for those who believe in the dignity of human life.

We recognize that the direct and intentional destruction of innocent human life as the Bishops of the United States have emphasized, from the moment of conception until natural death is always wrong. Abortion is not just one issue among many. The destruction of innocent human life must always be opposed.

The Bishops here recall the Fifth Commandment Thou shall not kill. They call to mind the disorder that entered into the world when Cain viciously murdered his brother and God says to him, Your brother s blood cries out to me from the soil. Our Shepherds remind us of Saint Thomas Aquinas emphasis that every human being, by nature, desires to preserve life, and that murder is an affront to our natural human inclination.http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/08/obamas-massive-pro-abortion-record-a-2012-election-issue/

Analysis: Planned Parenthood Business Model Abortion Based
An intriguing analysis of Planned Parenthood s business model was recently published by a UK-based magazine. Planned Parenthood s years of operating history provided the basis for a thorough statistical analysis, providing useful clarity in this highly politicized time. The analysis concludes that:

A 99% positive correlation between Planned Parenthood s government support and its abortions;
This 99% statistic contradicts often-heard suggestions of there being no connection between public funding and abortions, and suggests that future Obamacare support of Planned Parenthood will only lead to more abortions; http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/08/analysis-planned-parenthood-business-model-abortion-based/

Congress Must Pass CIANA to Protect Minor Girls From Abortion
Of all of the commonsense regulations of abortion that are widely supported by Americans, parental involvement laws are consistently at the top. In fact, a recent Gallup poll showed that 71% of Americans favor requiring women under 18 to get parental consent for any abortion only informed consent laws received higher marks.[1] Not surprisingly, parental consent or notification laws are in force in 37 states, with varying degrees of effectiveness.

Why such popularity? Medical and sociological evidence, as well as commonsense, provide ample reasons why parental involvement is needed in a minor s abortion decision. The United States Supreme Court has acknowledged that immature minors often lack the ability to make fully informed choices that take into account both immediate and long-range consequences. [2] Further, the medical, emotional, and psychological consequences of abortion are often serious and can be lasting, particularly when the patient is immature. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/08/congress-must-pass-ciana-to-protect-minor-girls-from-abortion/

Obama Mandate About Helping Planned Parenthood, Not Birth Control
As faithful Christians, our objection to the Health and Human Services mandate the Obama administration has tried to implement is not about revoking women s access to birth control as the media spins it. It s about keeping government out of religion and allowing Christian healthcare providers to exercise their right to practice medicine according to their moral guidelines; forcing private Christian healthcare providers to cover services to which they are morally opposed is a gross violation of conscience laws.

As a Christian woman, the fact that the Obama administration claims to speak on my behalf in this regard is offensive, and his claiming that 98% of Catholic women use birth control is just a flat-out lie.

As a pregnant mother, the fact that this mandate perpetuates the ideology that pregnancy is a disease (because contraception is lumped together as preventative medicine like cancer screenings and vaccinations) is also offensive. I am not diseased, and pregnancy is not a sickness. It should not be treated as such, and Christian healthcare institutions should not be forced to treat it as such, either. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/08/obama-mandate-about-helping-planned-parenthood-not-birth-control/

Planned Parenthood Wrong About Obama-Texas Funding Battle
The head of a pro-life legal group in Texas says Planned Parenthood is misstating the facts when it comes to the battle between Texas decision to de-fund the abortion business and the Obama administration s possible decision to cut a woman s health program.

The Obama Administration, not the Texas Legislature and the Governor, will be responsible for killing the Women s Health Program (WHP) if the Obama Administration denies Texas application for renewal of the program because Planned Parenthood is excluded under state law, says Linda Schlueter, President of Trinity Legal Center.

At stake is healthcare for low-income women and states rights. The Obama Administration is threatening to cut off the Women s Health Care Program (WHP) for over 100,000 Texas women at over 2,400 providers for the sake of Planned Parenthood, which provides only limited health service at 44 facilities in Texas. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/08/planned-parenthood-wrong-about-obama-texas-funding-battle/

Obama s Priority: Abortion Funding Yes, Adoption Funding No
President Obama s recent budget proposal would end a lifesaving adoption program while continuing to advocate for hundreds of millions of dollars to subsidize the abortion industry.

On December 31, 1998, Hannah Strege was born to proud parents, John and Marlene Strege. As the father of two (and soon to be three), I can tell you that every birth is a miracle, and every child is a gift from God. However, there was and is something uniquely special about Hannah. Hannah was the first baby ever delivered after having been adopted as a frozen embryo. These babies are often referred to as snowflake babies.

Snowflake babies begin their journey to an adoptive family when the in-vitro fertilization process of another couple generates leftover embryos. When this occurs, the genetic parents of these embryos have the option to give them up for adoption rather than allow for them to be simply destroyed. As evidenced by Hannah (and many more after her), the result can be truly life-giving, and can help couples realize the desire of welcoming a child into their family. http://www.lifenews.com/2012/03/08/obamas-priority-abortion-funding-yes-adoption-funding-no/
