Let Life Win: EWTN To Air National March for Life From Ottawa, Canada

By David Clark
Since 1969, legalized abortion in Canada has killed over 4 million children. This year alone, another 100,000 will be put to death, using taxpayer money. Those most at risk are children with disabilities such as Down syndrome.

Pro-life advocates in Canada have chosen "Let Life Win" as the theme for this year's 18th annual National March for Life. It's a call to action for Canadians to embrace every child no matter their condition, and a reminder that each life is a gift and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. This Thursday, thousands will assemble on Parliament Hill to march through the city of Ottawa. You can join them by tuning into #EWTN's live coverage of "The National March for Life: Ottawa" at 11: 30 a.m. ET, May 14.

Whether you access EWTN from Canada using your mobile phone or watch/listen on TV, radio, the Internet, and more, you'll want to tune in to EWTN to get a view of the March that you simply can't get when you're in the middle of the crowd! As always, EWTN President and "Bookmark" Host Doug Keck and EWTN Chaplain Father Joseph Mary will anchor EWTN's coverage. "At Home with Jim & Joy" Co-Hosts Jim & Joy Pinto will provide on-the-ground coverage with interviews of marchers, speakers, and other surprise guests!

This year's exciting lineup of speakers includes Eric Metaxas, author, speaker, and creator of the children's show "Veggie Tales." He is also best known for two biographies, "Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery" and "Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy." Both biographies focus on historic figures who fought for the dignity of the human person—Wilberforce, an English abolitionist who took on the inhumane slave trade and Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a German pastor who vocally opposed Hitler's genocidal persecutions. Pro-lifers can benefit from learning about the sacrifices and ridicules these great figures endured when standing up for the rights of those who could not speak for themselves.

We hope that many of our EWTN family members in Canada will be able to attend the March! If you can't make it there in person, you can still show your support by "liking" The March for Life Canada's Facebook page, following their Twitter Handle and Instagram page. Please use the hashtags #LetLifeWin, #Marchforlife, #whywemarch and #ivoteprolifefirst to share your photos, thoughts, and stories—whether you're marching in Ottawa, or watching at home via EWTN!
