Augusta, Maine
When
the 40 Days for Life team in Augusta, Maine launched its first campaign
a decade ago, Maine Family Planning started a "pledge-a-picketer"
campaign. The effort included a big banner announcing the latest amount
of money pledged to support the abortion facility.
"They told their supporters it would discourage us from being there," said Janet, the Augusta leader.
This year the fundraiser is conspicuously absent.
"No banner. No mention of us on their blog," Janet said. "It appears that as we enter our 10th year praying in front of their facility, they realize we are not going away."
