(From the homepage of the Diocese of Sacramento)

Jennifer Roback Morse, an expert on marriage, sexuality and the family, will speak on “Same Sex Marriage: Why Not?” and how to explain the Catholic Church’s teaching on marriage during a presentation on Thursday, Oct. 21, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Good Shepherd Church, located at 9539 Racquet Ct. in Elk Grove.

Morse’s talk is sponsored by the diocese’s Department of Evangelization and Catechesis and the Catholic Schools Department.

Morse founded the Ruth Institute, a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to bringing hope and encouragement for lifelong married love.

Teachers, administrators, clergy, catechists, directors of religious education, youth ministers and parents are encouraged to attend this event.

Morse’s presentation will focus on why the Church teaches that marriage can only be between one man and one woman; the serious consequences that would follow if California changed the traditional definition of marriage; and practical tools for presenting the Church’s teaching with clarity, sensitivity and compassion.

The cost to attend the event is $10 per person. For more information, call (916) 733-0123. To register online, Click Here.
