Wednesday, March 9, is the start of the first spring 40 Days for Life prayer campaign in Anchorage. In 40 Days for Life, each fall and spring, pro-life advocates gather outside abortion facilities around the world to peacefully stand vigil, pray for unborn babies and help mothers choose life for their children.

This spring, they will participate in vigils in 247 cities, including for the first time in Anchorage (previously, the campaign took place there in the fall only).

Since 40 Days for Life began in 2007, the group estimates that 3,599 unborn babies have been saved from abortion through their efforts.

On Tuesday, March 8, 7 p.m., the 40-day prayer campaign begins in Anchorage with a kick-off rally in front of Planned Parenthood and Alaska Women’s Health, PC, where abortions are performed – at 4001 and 4115 E. Lake Otis Parkway. All are welcome.

In order to sign-up for vigil hours from March 9-April 17, visit 40daysforlife.com/anchorage or contact Haylee Shields, Campaign Director, at 907-982-9895 or haylee40daysforlife@gmail.com, or Christine Kurka, Church Coordinator at 907-306-3263 or cekurka@mtaonlin.net.

Those unable to attend the vigil in person are invited to pray and fast for an end to abortion from home.
