Second Gosnell-Associated Abortion Practitioner Loses License
A second abortion practitioner associated with Kermit Gosnell, the man charged with eight counts of murder for killing a woman in a failed abortion and killing babies in abortion-infanticides, has lost his medical license. Gosnell is the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania abortion business owner who ran one of the most filthy and unregulated abortion centers ever exposed and his shoddy practices resulted in the deaths of and injury to women from botched abortions. He also engaged in a brutal practice of live-birth abortions that saw him        purposely prematurely birth babies and, afterwards, he would "snip" their spinal cords with medical scissors.

Gosnell not only operated in southeast Pennsylvania, but he was employed at the Delaware abortion facility known as Atlantic Women's Medical Services, with offices in Wilmington and Dover, Delaware, where he would work one day per week to do abortions.        That abortion center has already come under investigationfrom Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden and reportedly falsified abortion reports to state officials.

Earlier this month, the Board of Medical Licensing and Discipline agreed with a recommendation from Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden to suspend the medical license of Dr. Albert Dworkin.

Dworkin was on the staff of the Women's Medical Society clinic in Philadelphia, the abortion center Gosnell ran and the medical board agreed with Biden that he presented a "clear and present danger" as obstetrician of record at the abortion center.

Late Friday, Biden filed an amended complaint requesting the emergency suspension of Arturo Apolinario's license. Delaware's State Department and the Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline then agreed to suspend Apolinario's license pending a hearing.

Biden's papers say Gosnell would routinely begin illegal late-term abortions at Atlantic that could not be done under Delaware abortion law and then transfer the women to his Philadelphia abortion center. The papers say Apolinario participated in the transfers as medical director of Atlantic's Wilmington abortion business and should have stopped them because of the danger to women. Full story at LifeNews.com

Senate Democrats Abandon Obama Rationing Czar Donald Berwick
Senate Democrats have officially given up their fight to confirm Donald Berwick, the rationing advocate President Barack Obama nominated to become the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the chief implementer of Obamacare.

Berwick has been deluged with criticism from pro-life advocates, who cite his fondness for rationing and his failure to level with a Senate committee about his pro-rationing views.

Obama previously used a recess appointment to place Berwick in the prominent position after the Senate couldn't find enough votes to overcome a Republican-led filibuster against his nomination. A recess appointment can be used when the Senate is not in session but the appointment is temporary and Berwick, if not confirmed by the Senate, has to leave the position by the end of the year. In January, Obama renominated Berwick to his current post.

However, a Politico report today indicates Democrats have given up any hope of confirming Berwick following a letter they received signed by 42 Republican senators who said they would continue pressing a filibuster against him. A white House spokesman indicated top Democrats "can do the arithmetic" and see no way to obtain the 60 votes necessary to cut off debate and proceed to a vote on Berwick's nomination.

Democratic Senate Finance Committee staffers, according to Politico, met with top health care lobbyists on Friday and said the Berwick nomination is officially dead and there will be no committee hearing on his nomination. They said top Democrats would eventually discuss the "next steps" for a new nomination for the post.

Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus told Politico on Thursday that Berwick is Obama's nominee and "it's his choice" whether to proceed with the nominee, but he would not commit to holding a confirmation hearing. Full story at LifeNews.com

Women Speak Out Bus Tour Hits Planned Parenthood Tax Funding
The Women Speak Out bus tour made its first stops today in Iowa in an effort to raise grassroots support for encouraging the Senate to follow the House's lead in revoking taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business. The Susan B. Anthony List-sponsored 13-district "Women Speak Out: Defund Planned Parenthood" bus tour is led by former Colorado Rep. Marilyn Musgrave and Live Action President Lila Rose, who recently exposed how some Planned Parenthood centers were willing to help aid sex traffickers who wanted abortions for the girls they claimed to have victimized.

The four-day tour will feature press conferences with local pro-life leaders in 11 cities throughout Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Rhode Island and New Hampshire thanking members who voted for Rep. Mike Pence's amendment defund Planned Parenthood in the long-term Continuing Resolution the House passed. The Senate is scheduled to vote on the bill this week and its own version that doesn't fund Planned Parenthood — and neither measure is expected to get the 60 votes needed to get past a filibuster.

"Planned Parenthood is a billion dollar a year organization. Their coffers are so filled, they can afford to send employees out here, to protests us and our witness. To the men and women and families here—that are here on their own time, out of the goodness of their hearts—I sincerely thank you," Mugrave said. "Planned Parenthood is a scandal-plagued abortion organization that must be held accountable for abusing innocent young victims while receiving hundreds of millions in federal dollars each year." Full story at LifeNews.com

British Health Official: Leave Babies Born at 23 Weeks to Die
An official of the British National Health Service, the governmental socialized medicine program, is drawing gasps from pro-life people worldwide over comments she made saying babies born at 23 weeks of pregnancy should be let to die.

Although unborn children born at that stage of pregnancy, or earlier, can survive, Dr. Daphne Austin said she believes too few babies survive if born prematurely at that point to justify the millions of dollars spent on their medical care.

Austin said, according to a London Daily Mail report, that helping babies survive at that point is only "prolonging their agony" and the money would be better spent to care for the disabled or others who have a better chance of surviving.

Austin, who advises local health care systems how to spend their budgets, claims doctors "doing more harm than good by resuscitating 23-weekers" with treatments that, in her estimation, have "very marginal benefit." She opposes the £10 million NHS spends annually helping care for babies born very prematurely because statistics show only about 9 percent of the babies born at that time ever leave the hospital after the around the clock care they need.

She also complains that few of the babies who do survive are able to lead normal lives — as most of the infants born prematurely suffer from some sort of disability ranging from blindness to cerebral palsy. Full story at LifeNews.com

Planned Parenthood Imitates Pro-Life Bus Tour With Its Own
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and the Planned Parenthood abortion business has organized a last-minute bus tour to counter the one the Susan B. Anthony List coordinated with pro-life activist Lila Rose. The pro-life bus tour is heading through the Midwest and the northeastern United States to thanks members who voted to revoke taxpayer funding for the abortion business, and Planned Parenthood is apparently not happy that it didn't think of its own bus tour first.

In an email to its members, the abortion business said, "We know it is short notice — and it may be difficult for you to make it, but we need you, your friends and family by our side. It's critical that we demonstrate our community's strong support for Planned Parenthood."

"You won't be able to miss us — we're traveling in a big pink bus. All you'll need to do is show up, stand up, and speak the truth with us. Bring your co-workers. Your sisters. Your mom. Your friends. Bring everyone you know who cares about Planned Parenthood," the group added.

The Planned Parenthood tour will go to some of the same offices of members of Congress as the pro-life tour and the abortion advocates timed their stops to come just before the pro-lifers arrive. Full story at LifeNews.com

Release of Medical Records Holding Up Transfer of Baby Joseph
As the parents of Baby Joseph Maraachli in Canada wait for a hospital to transfer their son to in order to get a tracheotomy procedure so he can go home, a leading pro-life advocate says releasing medical records is holding up the process.

The parents of the 13-month-old have been fighting a hospital that wants        to remove his breathing tube.

Baby Joseph has been at London Health Sciences Centre in London, Ontario, in October with a rare deteriorating condition that is not improving. The doctors who have cared for him want to remove his breathing tube but Moe Maraachli and Sana Nader took their battle to court to allow the tube to be removed at home, so the boy can die surrounded by his family. A Superior Court judge in London, Ontario, last week, dismissed the request of the Canadian couple to overturn a decision requiring the removal of their baby's breathing tube in a hospital instead of at home.

Baby Joseph's parents want a tracheotomy performed on their son so they can take him off the respirator and bring him home to live his last days surrounded by family. The London hospital has refused to perform the procedure.

Leading pro-life and disability rights advocates have been helping the family to find an American hospital to transfer him to, but Father Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, tells LifeNews.com that the failure by the hospital to release the records has been holding up any transfer. Full story at LifeNews.com

De-Funding Planned Parenthood Should Unite Social, Fiscal Conservatives
At a time when Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels and some other conservatives are advocating putting social issues like abortion on the back burner so monetary issues like jobs and the economy can take center stage, two conservatives have united on a common theme.

Grover Norquist, the president of Americans for Tax Reform, and Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life women's group, have combined forces to write a new opinion column at National Review. The thrust of their message is that social conservatives who prefer pushing abortion limits and fiscal conservatives who want to cut spending and lower taxes can join together to support de-funding the Planned Parenthood abortion business. Full story at LifeNews.com

Minnesota Fetal Pain-Based Late Abortion Ban Introduced
Minnesota legislators today introduced a bill in the Minnesota Senate and House of Representatives that would stop abortions after the point at which the unborn child can feel pain.
The measure would prohibit the killing of innocent unborn children at 20 weeks from conception based on the well-documented scientific evidence showing unborn children have an innate capacity to feel intense pain during an abortion. "For far too long, Minnesota's abortionists have been inflicting unconscionable suffering on unborn babies by killing them when they are already extraordinarily developed and pain-sensitive," explained Scott Fischbach, executive director of Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life, in a statement to LifeNews.com. "It is illegal to treat animals in such a brutal way; this bill will finally protect unborn children at 20 weeks and older from the torturous pain of abortion."Full story at LifeNews.com

Maryland Cmte Hears About Woman's Death From Legal Abortion
Last week, a Maryland state Senate Committee heard about the death of a young woman from a botched abortion and how abortion centers in the state are not properly regulated by the state health department to protect women. The Senate Finance Committee held a hearing on Senate Bill 505 — a bill to ensure abortion facilities are held to the same health and safety standards required of legitimate surgical facilities. Full story at LifeNews.com

Pro-Life Girls Shackled, Strip Searched Now Settle Lawsuit
The pro-life advocates, including college-aged girls, who were shacked and strip searched after peacefully protesting abortion in Maryland in 2008, have settled the lawsuit they filed against a Maryland county. Maryland state troopers handcuffed and arrested 18 pro-life advocates for sharing a peaceful pro-life message along a Bel Air, Maryland public street in  August 2008. Among those arrested were three young women who were later shackled, strip-searched, and detained overnight by other police.

Baby Breeding 101: Business Busted Exploiting Women
There seems to be no end to the filthy bottom of the reproductive tourist trafficking industry. This story just broke, covering the bust up of a baby breeding surrogacy ring. Fourteen Vietnamese women had their passports confiscated and were being held in two houses while they gestated babies which were being sold by the company, Baby 101. Full story at LifeNews.com

Washington Post: Virginia Abortion Law "Incendiary Mischief"
The editorially-liberal Washington Post is hardly an enemy of government regulation. Except, of course, when it comes to moves to restrict abortion. In Wednesday's paper, the editorial board lamented "Va.'s abortion end run."

Utah House Passes Bill for Doctors to Refuse to Do Abortions
A bill the Utah state House passed today would allow doctors who are morally opposed to abortions to refuse to participate in them — including in cases of rape or incest. Rep. Carl Wimmer sponsored the measure, HB 353 to ensure physicians are immune from a civil lawsuit for refusing to do an abortion and to expand the current protections that are on the  books in the state. The state House agreed with his legislation with a 54-13 party-line vote and now the bill heads to the state Senate for consideration.
