After seven years of prayers, petitions, and peaceful protests, Texoma Pro-Life Association, an American Life League Associate group, was pleased to report that the Planned Parenthood facility in Sherman, TX, closed its doors on August 23, 2011!

Since the opening of the Sherman Planned Parenthood facility, TPLA had worked diligently to educate the community about the dangers of Planned Parenthood. By hosting pro-life speakers, sponsoring local fair booths, participating in Life Chains, and conducting community information sessions, the TPLA endeavored to teach local residents why Planned Parenthood was and is not an asset to Sherman or to the country.

Abortion increases risk of mental health problems, new research finds

Telegraph

The study showed that those who undergo abortion face nearly double the risk of mental health difficulties compared with others and that one in ten of all mental health problems was a result of an abortion. The latest research was carried out by American academic Priscilla Coleman and published in the British Journal of Psychiatry.  It adds to previous findings made public by the journal three years ago which first questioned the assumption of abortion campaigners that terminating a pregnancy reduces rather than increases the health risks to women.

Kansas to comply with Planned Parenthood order

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) - Kansas officials said Wednesday the state will obey a federal judge's order to immediately fund Planned Parenthood clinics while the state pursues an appeal.  The state is appealing a decision that blocked enforcement of a new statute stripping it all of all federal funding for non-abortion services.  "The State of Kansas intends to immediately comply with the order of the court," the Kansas Department of Health and Environment said in a statement Wednesday. "At the same time, the State will continue to pursue reversal of this order on appeal."  The Kansas attorney general's office also issued a similar statement on Wednesday.
Historic Polish ban on all abortions fails by razor-thin margin

Life Site News

An historic Polish bill banning all abortions was rejected on Wednesday by Poland's parliament in a narrow 191-186 vote, with five abstentions. Seventy-eight lawmakers were not present for the vote. The historic pro-life bill was the result of a massive grassroots campaign. To bring the abortion ban before Parliament under Poland's political system, the sponsors needed to collect 100,000 signatures within three months.  They got 600,000 in two weeks. The bill had sought to get rid of exceptions, rationalizing that murder is not permissible under any circumstances.
