Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

MIAMI, May 16, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ -- 3 UNI for Orphans, a Miami based non-profit Christian organization brings a new approach to assist orphans and foster children locally and worldwide. 3 UNI aims to promote and connect orphan care organizations, ministries and local efforts with donors, volunteers and potential adoptive/foster families - or "connect resources to the need" as summarized by founder Rosangela de Morais. 3 UNI operates from Miami, Florida via an online platform that provides resources for people who want to adopt a child, become foster parents, find volunteering opportunities or begin an orphan care ministry. Their platform also provides a crowdfunding space for small organizations to fundraise for specific projects.

Rosangela and her husband Tarcio became parents through international adoption, are foster parents and longtime advocates for children. They are also founders and counselors of a mentorship program for orphanages in Brazil. They firmly believe the supporting the local Church is key to orphan care.

As part of 3 UNI's initiatives; the organization is now partnering with the Florida Guardian ad Litem program (GAL) to host a meeting to educate prospective volunteers on how to become an advocate for the county's most vulnerable children.

"The GAL program is in critical need for volunteers and we are happy to leverage our platform to promote this opportunity for volunteers to become advocates for the foster children," said Rosangela. "More than 3,000 children in the Miami-Dade County alone are in the foster care system, and 45% of them are 5 years old or younger. These children desperately need us to step up for them. It is part of our duty according to the Bible in Hebrews 13:3, to continue to remember those who are mistreated as if we, ourselves, were suffering. GAL volunteers are responsible for visiting their assigned child and speaking on their behalf in court hearings about three times a year. An example of the traditional magisterial teaching which indicates that it is never morally licit to intentionally kill a child through abortion in order to “save the life of its mother” comes from the teaching of Pope Pius XII:

“Every human being, even the infant in the mother's womb, has the right to life immediately from God, not from the parent or any human society or authority. Therefore, there is no man, no human authority, no science, no medical, eugenic, social, economic or moral ‘indication’ that can show or give valid juridical title for direct deliberate disposition concerning an innocent human life-which is to say, a disposition that aims at its destruction either as an end in itself or as the means of attaining another end that is perhaps in no way illicit itself. Thus, for example, to save the life of the mother is a most noble end, but the direct killing of the child as a means to this end is not licit.”
