A message from President Trump for Pro-Life Leaders

This is a busy summer as we gear up for the largest 40 Days for Life campaign ever..... .....in more than 400 cities! In fact, we just returned from a jam-packed training of the heroes of 40 Days for Life: the local campaign leaders.

This year's leader symposium featured training and speakers, including Bishop Thomas Olmsted of the Diocese of Phoenix; representatives from Alliance Defending Freedom, Live Action and Pro-Life Action Ministries; and former Planned Parenthood manager, Sue Thayer. Sue led a campaign outside her former workplace before it closed. Her message was powerful, to say the least. The event started with a surprise as we shared a warm message to our leaders from President Donald Trump. You can view President Trump's message in the event program here. Leading a 40 Days for Life campaign is hard. We had leaders from Los Angeles to the Bronx to Latin America to Nigeria to Canada to Florida to Croatia. The one common theme was overcoming persecution and trusting God with all of these efforts. As our courageous local leaders get ready for this massive campaign, please find your location early and sign up to pray. You can also sign up to pray on the new and improved 40 Days for Life app. Thank you to President Trump for his message and to all of the speakers who made this important training possible. We look forward to seeing God use our time together to save babies from abortion this September 26 through November 4.

In Evangelium Vitae, St. Pope John Paul II identified a sinister paradox in contemporary culture. “Precisely in an age when the inviolable rights of the person are solemnly proclaimed and the value of life is publicly affirmed,” he lamented, “the very right to life is being denied or trampled upon, especially at the more significant moments of existence: the moment of birth and the moment of death.” This “strange contradiction,” he warned, means that in practice a great deal of the lofty talk about human rights spoken in legislatures, courts and conference rooms around the world amounts to little more than a “futile exercise of rhetoric.” In this blistering passage, the pope singles out one instance of the hypocrisy of many ostensibly liberal modern democratic states...
