An abortion clinic rescue in the first week of July, 2018
Dear Pro-life friends,
Because certain people are trying to block the efforts
of sidewalk counselors to save mothers and babies from the horrors of
abortion, we are keeping the dates, times, and locations of where we are
counseling confidential. The notes below may come from one or more
locations during the week. Some specifics have been omitted to protect
the identity of people we counsel.
A baby saved in the first week of July, 2018
Shortly before the abortion center opened its doors, the
mom, dad, and teenage daughter walked up to the entrance. The counselor
approached them and gave them some flyers and said, “I don’t know why
you are here, but most people come here for an abortion, and we are
trying to help folks by sharing better options, and trying to turn
people away from here and toward making a better choice”. The mom said,
“Oh, we are not here for that…”
Realizing the clinic had not yet opened, they left and
came back a little while after it had opened, going straight inside. A
short time later the mom came out and sat down near the front of the
clinic to have a cigarette. The counselor went over and started up a
conversation with her, asking her if she had had time to read the
material. She pulled out the brochure on the effects of the birth
control pill and said “Isn’t it good to take these?” The counselor told
her to look at the statistics inside, and pointed to the back cover
with a plethora of listed of sources and data.
The mom started to open up a little as the counselor asked
her if she had read the pregnancy pamphlet listing all the physical and
emotional risks of an abortion, then started going over them with her,
showing her the information. At that point, she blurted out, “Well my
daughter is inside going through that right now”. She started unloading
that she got herself into trouble and now has to make the hard choice
of whether or not to go through with this on her own. She said, “I told
her maybe if she got this abortion it would teach her a lesson”.
In the course of subsequent conversations with the mom and
dad, they admitted many times, often in heavy tears, that they really
didn’t want her in there having this done. They turned 180 degrees from
being “tough” with her, to speaking about how they could re-arrange
their job schedules to help handle all this and make it all work out for
their daughter to keep the baby. They shared that they were a
Christian family, and knew in their hearts this wasn’t right thing to
do.
By now the mom was desperately texting, and trying to call
her daughter who was in a separate room waiting to start up the
procedures, but basically having a battle with her. The daughter was
saying she had school to finish and her life will be ruined. But now
the parents were encouraging her to keep the baby and they would be
there for her….and to please come out. The mom tried three times at
length going into abortion center over the course of the morning, only
to be told by the abortion center staff that the daughter had the right
to keep her parents out.
After the mom’s third attempt failed, it dawned on her to
call her mother (the teenager’s grandmother), who was very close to the
teenager. The grandmother was a solid Christian model for the whole
family. The grandmother called her granddaughter inside the clinic just
about the time the granddaughter, who is in her second trimester, was
having an ultrasound. After talking to her grandmother, and having
observed the ultrasound, she called her parents to come in and get her.
Soon, the mom and daughter came out with smiles, and the
counselor told them they made the “right decision” and “God will be with
them”. The dad went for the car, and looked so “relieved” with a big
smile and tears. They drove away as the counselors waved them off.
Please pray for this family.
