So now we know who Dignitas is really killing in its death-house (pictured) in Switzerland.
Senior British doctors are today expressing their outrage that the suicide clinic has arranged the deaths of British patients with conditions that are not life-threatening, such as Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease, tetraplegia, kidney disease and rheumatoid arthritis “all conditions which doctors say are not only non-terminal, but with which people can and do lead fulfilling and precious lives for decades.
The timing of these revelations couldn’t be more important. Tomorrow the House of Lords is scheduled to debate amendements to the Coroners and Justice Bill that would make it legal for Britons to facilitate the one-way trip to Dignitas, opening the floodgates for those with non-life-threatening conditions to be encouraged to commit suicide.
