Washington, DC (06 October 2009) – American Life League's newest Associate group, St. Lucie Catholic Church Teens for Life is taking the message of Pope John Paul II to heart.
"Don't be afraid to go out into the streets and into public places, like the first apostles who preached Christ and the good news of Salvation in the squares of the cities, towns and villages," said John Paul II at World Youth Day in Denver, 1993.
Based out of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Teens for Life is a special part of the youth outreach at St. Lucie Catholic Church. The group specifically exists to be educated further in the Catholic faith, especially concerning the Gospel of Life, and to lead others, in particular their peers, in pro-life messages within their families, church and community.
"Teens especially have a unique opportunity to witness to human life and the dignity of the human person," said Judie Brown, president of American Life League. "Teens especially are targeted by the Culture of Death, so their lead, front and center in the fight to recognize human personhood, has an incredibly powerful ability to change hearts and minds. We are so excited to welcome Teens for Life as the newest
American Life League Associate group."
Teens for Life attends diocesan-sponsored prayer services and conferences, updates groups within the parish on pro-life issues, attends the March for Life, participates in local parish life chains, keeps current on legislative activity, makes local representatives aware of pro-life issues and attends special meetings with guest speakers.
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death.
