| REPACKAGING DEATH AS LIFE-THE THIRD PATH TO IMPOSED DEATH  When we think about the differences between the culture of life and the culture of death, we logically presume that one will make up his mind to take either the good path or the bad path. But, as Dr. Elizabeth Wickham of LifeTree makes perfectly clear in the first of three installments of the article you are about to read, it is that "third path" that is perhaps the devil's most ingenious strategy for capturing souls. When it comes to euthanasia, and palliative care in particular, what Dr. Wickham explains will shock you. In an e-mail to supporters the day after the 2010 midterm elections, Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards wrote, "There's no getting around it: the results of yesterday's election are truly alarming." She lamented the "extremists" who have been elected and who will "pursue a dangerous agenda." That agenda, of course, is saving unborn children from being murdered.

The national office of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) awarded a grant in 2010 to a Chicago-based group, despite the local CCHD branch's strong warnings that the organization in question coordinated a school-based health program that provides contraception and refers for abortions. The decision to award the grant was made even as CCHD was faced with calls for a boycott over its funding practices, and in the midst of an effort at reform. |
