Outrage: Planned Parenthood tries to lower age of sexual consent to 14 in Peru
Peru is a country in which fewer than 15 percent of young people below the age of 18 are sexually active. Yet International Planned Parenthood Federation is pushing legislation there to lower the age of sexual consent to 14. Lifesite News reports the shocking story and says that Planned Parenthood's excuse for attempting to lower the age is so young people will not be prosecuted for consensual sexual intercourse. The legislation obviously opens the door for adults to have unrestricted sex with boys and girls 14 years of age and older without fear of prosecution, making Peru a haven for sexual predators and a cashbox for Planned Parenthood's contraceptive and abortion business. International Planned Parenthood has recently published documents that clearly state the intent to guarantee "sexual rights" to everyone, including very young children. Planned Parenthood's radical document Sexual Rights, an IPPF declaration, purports to create "change," promote and ensure "sexual rights" as human rights -- even for little children, and promotes the use of legislative and judicial action to enforce these supposed rights against those who stand in its way. The sexual rights declaration was followed by another IPPF document entitled Stand and Deliver, which is designed to place contraceptives and sexually explicit information in the hands of every child beginning at the age of ten, while insisting that prepubescent children have sexual rights that should be "free from administrative restrictions and obstacles." It seeks to make Planned Parenthood's immoral, perverse "comprehensive sex education" a human right that must be afforded to all children. We now see Planned Parenthood aggressively pushing that agenda worldwide. Parents, remain vigilant. Now is the time to find out what your children are being taught in school and in youth groups and clubs of all sorts. Planned Parenthood is constantly making inroads into any group that involves teens and young children, and especially loves to be involved with church groups. We must have strong parents on the local school boards and boards of directors of local youth organizations to hold the line against Planned Parenthood and its evil agenda that seeks to steal the souls of our children. | Woman's testimony about coerced abortion at Planned Parenthood silenced by New Jersey senate budget committee
After Governor Chris Christie vetoed millions that would have gone to Planned Parenthood and the New Jersey senate failed to override the veto, Planned Parenthood scrambled into action and began trying to persuade the legislature to reallocate other monies to keep the abortion giant afloat. The budget committee met Nov. 15, supposedly weighing whether to redirect millions of taxpayer dollars to Planned Parenthood, but refused to allow Darlene Dunn to testify about her personal experience with Planned Parenthood. "I was publicly humiliated, bullied, censored and ordered to turn off my microphone - all because I dared to relay a negative experience I had with Planned Parenthood's family planning services," Dunn said in a Nov. 21 letter to the editor. A video posted on the National Catholic Register blog exposes the attack on the courageous woman. "I personally had an abortion at Planned Parenthood. They were the cruelest organization I have ever dealt with in my entire life -" she said before being
rudely interrupted by Senator Paul Sarlo, who co-sponsored the bill with Senator Loretta Weinberg. "Darlene, this is not a bill about Planned Parenthood and whether they should exist or not. This is a bill about family planning health care...You can talk about Planned Parenthood all you want in another forum...but it's not going to happen here," he said. Interrupting her a second time, Sarlo said, "... This is not about Planned Parenthood and what they do and what they don't do. Speak about the bill and whether or not...this is good fiscal policy for the state of New Jersey, whether or not we should aggregate these million dollars and we get a federal match of nine times that amount. That's what this bill is about." Attempting to comply with his demands, Dunn then said she did not agree with funding an organization that says it is for health care but kills children. "That's it. You are completely out of order by saying that. It's inappropriate -" he interjected. In a final attempt to secure her right to be heard, she said, "I went for family planning - you don't understand. When you walk into a place for family planning and are told - I am here for family planning and scared to death in a crisis pregnancy, and I am told, 'You have one option,' that is not family planning. That is coerced abortion. And that's what was done to me and I have a right to be heard. That's not family planning." Dunn's heartbreaking experience is one that is played out time and time again in Planned Parenthood centers throughout the nation, as woman after woman has testified. Yet the sponsor of the bill, seeking to appease Planned Parenthood and grab a huge pot of federal money, did not even have the common decency to let this poor woman tell her story. Even though in 2008, 40.6 percent of Planned Parenthood's clinic income was derived from its abortion business - over 152 million dollars - those wishing to throw more taxpayer money at Planned Parenthood attempted to downplay that abortion business and silenced legitimate, heartfelt opposition. It is time to defund Planned Parenthood once and for all. The aftermath of the midterm elections provides the perfect opportunity in many states to do so. It is time for grassroots activists to act. | Bringing Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary: A bishop and the Mother of God
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it is a good time to pause and thank God for those He has sent into our lives and into our pro-life movement who have saved countless lives and reshaped the landscape of our communities by removing Planned Parenthood from the picture. Bishop Emeritus John W. Yanta stands at the forefront of those who have made real progress in eliminating the abortion giant that laid in waiting like a wolf ready to devour the good bishop's sheep. When he was called to shepherd the faithful of the Diocese of Amarillo as their bishop, he surveyed the horrific landscape and, finding 19 Planned Parenthood facilities in operation in the geographical confines of his diocese, committed himself immediately to passionately fighting Planned Parenthood. One of the first things Bishop Yanta did was to consecrate the pro-life activities of the diocese and place them under the care of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas and patroness of the preborn. He was a fixture on the sidewalks outside Planned Parenthood centers in Amarillo during his tenure as bishop, praying the rosary there as often as his schedule allowed, always modeling and encouraging devotion to Our Lady. He truly brought Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary. This good bishop's pro-life efforts were blessed in a way that only God could imagine, and because of his persistence in prayer and leadership, Planned Parenthood no longer exists in the Texas Panhandle. When the idea was conceived at STOPP to start a nationwide campaign to Bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary, Bishop Yanta graciously approved the prayer of consecration and the prayer to be prayed at Planned Parenthood facilities. Last month he wrote a letter to the bishops of the United States encouraging them to support our campaign to Bring Jesus to Planned Parenthood through Mary. He called recently to say that he had been praying at an abortion mill in San Antonio, TX, where he now lives, and he was surprised to find the pro-lifers there were carrying the American Life League signs displaying pictures of Our Lady, with the prayers on the back that he had approved for use in the campaign. It can't be said too many times: What a difference a passionately pro-life bishop can make! Please join us in thanking God for Bishop Yanta and his ongoing leadership in fighting Planned Parenthood.
| | A towering model of pro-life perseverance As we thankfully contemplate how God has poured His grace on us by sending prophets for such a time as this - a time when babies are slaughtered by the millions via the government-funded Planned Parenthood organization, all in the name of choice, privacy and health care - another towering individual stands out from the crowd. For 25 years, his voice has been crying out in the desert with a simple yet earth-shakingly important message: Stop Planned Parenthood! It was a virtually lone voice in the beginning that now has been joined by a chorus of hundreds of thousands. A retired research physicist and manager of IBM's corporate new products release and control methodologies, Jim Sedlak answered the call to fight Planned Parenthood wholeheartedly when God handed him the mission. He co-founded and was director of STOPP (Stop Planned Parenthood) from 1986 to 1994. He founded and was president of STOPP International from 1994 to 1998, when it merged into American Life League. He is currently vice president of American Life League and oversees STOPP as one of his many duties. Jim has been up front and outspoken in the fight against Planned Parenthood. He has been the source upon which pro-life groups throughout the nation and the world have relied for Planned Parenthood statistics and for help in planning strategy to rid communities of Planned Parenthood. He is the author of Parent Power!! How Parents Can Gain Control of the School Systems that Educate their Children. He is the primary author of Human Life International's Deadly Deception on the International Planned Parenthood Federation. He has been at the forefront of the call to defund the nation's largest abortion chain, a call that is now spreading like wildfire across our nation. He has established himself as a force to be reckoned with. In 1993, Jim was identified by Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) as one of the 15 "most active" fighters against PP sex education programs. In 1995, PPFA featured Jim in two segments of its anti-life film, Unholy Alliance. As I write this Wednesday STOPP Report, Jim is celebrating his 29th birthday for somewhere around the 40th time. Every locale has its pro-life heroes who are in the trenches, day in and day out, praying at Planned Parenthood facilities, offering real help and hope to the women who enter there and to the employees of the facilities, and witnessing to the sanctity of every precious, unrepeatable human life to all those who pass by. For each and every one of you, we give thanks. You personify the theological virtues of faith, hope and charity. It is because of dedicated individuals like you that we have now reached an all time record number of protests and prayer vigils outside Planned Parenthood facilities. Our map room now reflects 279 vigils at 203 Planned Parenthood facilities in 40 states and Washington, D.C. There are now regular prayer vigils at 1 of every 4 Planned Parenthood facilities in the United States. For all who work so tirelessly, enduring persecution and all sorts of hardship in order to protect the least of our brothers and sisters, our prayers this Thanksgiving ascend to heaven on behalf of you and your families. May God continue to shower His richest blessings upon you as we enter into the season of Advent. O come, Emanuel!
