Dear John,
With all that's happened in the past few days, I just wanted to update you briefly on the latest news from the SBA List.
March for Life : What a great day at yesterday’s March for Life! It was so inspiring to see the hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans gathered in our nation’s capitol to March for the voiceless unborn. My son Tommy and I went down to the National Mall to hear the numerous pro-life Members of Congress who were there to speak to the crowd. Over 50 Representatives spoke up for the right to Life, including House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) who said, “…The tide has turned. Our majority has been energized with a strong crop of pro-life people. This bill [“The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act”] is at the top of our agenda…I promise you the People's House will stand unapologetically for Life." I also spoke to a few reporters. There was great news coverage on the March for Life and the SBA List at ABC News, CBN News, and in Human Events and World Magazine. State of the Unborn Address: In case you missed it while you were witnessing for Life yesterday—either in Washington or at home—I wanted to make sure you saw the SBA List’s 2011 “State of the Unborn” Address. With hundreds of thousands expected to tune-in tonight to President Obama’s State of the Union address at 9 PM EST, I hope you first take a look at our own “State of the Unborn.” I hope the video is an uplifting reminder of how far pro-life America has come and serves as a hopeful call to action for the coming battles in the fight for Life. During the President’s address, they’ll be having a live online-discussion with pro-life activists and journalists from across the country to discuss the President’s remarks. President Obama previously said he’d like to reduce the number of abortions in our country, but on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade just this past weekend, he called abortion a “constitutional right.” Tonight, join pro-life activists and journalists around the country at the Catholic Advocate’s Live Blog page for a frank discussion during President Obama’s State of the Union.
