Republican Candidates Tout Pro-Life Views in Palmetto Forum
During today s Republican presidential forum, each of the Republican presidential candidates who attended sounded pro-life themes on issues ranging from overturning Roe v. Wade to challenging the dominance of the Supreme Court to naming a pro-life running mate.

Michele Bachmann, the Minnesota congresswoman, was the first to face questions from the panel and she committed herself to naming a pro-life running mate if she becomes the Republican nominee, saying she would absolutely do so.

Herman Cain, the businessman and the only African-American candidate in the race, also said he would absolutely name a pro-life running mate and he told Princeton law professor Robby George that he would support legislation from Congress challenging the Supreme Court s jurisdiction on abortion. Bachmann supported that idea as well saying she would assuredly back such a bill.

The next candidate facing the panel was Newt Gingrich, the former Speaker of the House, and he also agreed with supporting legislation to challenge the Supreme Court on abortion, saying, We re going to have a big fight with the lawyer class and added Congress should being a systematic process to eliminate courts ability to review certain issues. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/05/republican-candidates-tout-pro-life-views-in-palmetto-forum/

Planned Parenthood Attacks Pro-Life Rick Perry on Abortion
The Planned Parenthood abortion business sent a fundraising email to its members over the weekend attacking pro-life Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who has become the leading Republican presidential candidate.

If he receives the nomination, Perry would take on pro-abortion President Barack Obama, who has worked closely with Planned Parenthood to protect its taxpayer funding. The abortion giant is planning a fundraiser for Obama to help him raise money to obtain another four years to advance its pro-abortion agenda.

To ensure its members know Perry doesn t support Planned Parenthood s agenda, the fundraising email contains slams on Perry and his pro-life record and urges its membership to send him an email through its lobbying web site complaining about Perry s pro-life accomplishments.

As governor of Texas, Rick Perry has pursued a single-minded agenda: take away women s health care, destroy Planned Parenthood, and block women s access to safe abortion care, the Planned Parenthood email says, ignoring the ways in which abortion practitioners in Texas are facing investigation for ignoring abortion health and safety laws.. Now he s running for president and may push his anti-choice, anti-women s health agenda on every woman in the country.

Facing record numbers of uninsured women and families, Governor Perry has cut funding for family planning and tried to shut down the Planned Parenthood health centers that provide desperately needed care, the email says, blasting Perry for signing a bill that revokes state taxpayer funding for the abortion business. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/05/planned-parenthood-attacks-pro-life-rick-perry-on-abortion/

Perry Leads Iowa Caucus Poll, Bachmann and Romney Follow
Rasmussen Reports released a new survey today of Iowa Republicans showing pro-life Texas Gov. Rick Perry has build a solid lead in the state that is the site of the first presidential battleground next year.

Confirming a surge seen in polling across the nation, Texas Governor Rick Perry has moved into first place among Republican voters in Iowa, host state to the first-in-the-nation caucus early next year, Rasmussen indicates.

The Rasmussen telephone survey of those likely to participate in the Iowa GOP Caucus shows that Perry is the first choice for 29%. Essentially tied for second are pro-life Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann at 18% and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, who is running as a pro-life candidate after formerly supporting abortion, at 17 percent. Texas Congressman Ron Paul, who is pro-life, picks up 14% of the vote but no other candidate receives more than 5 percent of the vote.

As for the other candidates, four percent (4%) support pro-life former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum; four percent (4%) back pro-life Georgia businessman Herman Cain; three percent (3%) favor former pro-life U.S. Ambassador Jon Huntsman, and two percent (2%) support pro-life former House Speaker Newt Gingrich. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/05/perry-leads-iowa-caucus-poll-bachmann-and-romney-follow/

Mother With Conjoined Twins Refuses Abortion Suggestion
An Illinois woman carrying conjoined twins declines an abortion and says their fate is in God s hands.

Amanda Schulten of Marengo,Illinois, a small town near the Wisconsin line, is a devout Catholic and refused to end her pregnancy. She has named the unborn girls Faith and Hope and is tracking her pregnancy in a blog, amanda-faithhopelove.blogspot.com. On the main page is the poignant poem she penned, I Love You.

No matter what happens, my soul will never leave you; If difficulties come here, I will never disappear, the poem begins.

I m sure you would be proud to call me momma, she writes, for you are a special gift to me.

He has a plan for me, and for them, she said. We never know when our last day will be. We have to enjoy it, and appreciate health while we have it. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/05/mother-with-conjoined-twins-refuses-abortion-suggestion/

NPR Lets Abortion Lobby Call Pro-Lifers Potential Terrorists
On Thursday s Morning Edition, NPR s touted the Obama administration s more aggressive legal approach towards pro-life demonstrators with the stepped-up prosecution of alleged violations of the controversial FACE Act. Correspondent Carrie Johnson highlighted the prosecution of an elderly pro-lifer, and let an abortion lobbyist denigrate pro-lifers as possible terrorists.

Host Steve Inskeep introduced Johnson s report with slanted language about how the fight over abortion rights continues in courtrooms and state houses all over this country. But a smaller-scale version of that conflict is on display almost every day between protesters and escorts at abortion clinics. And some of those tensions are on the rise, as the Obama administration takes a more aggressive legal approach against people who block access to clinics.

The correspondent then introduced Dick Retta, a pro-lifer who is a regular presence outside a Planned Parenthood office in Washington, DC, just blocks from the White House. Johnson noted that Retta had a civil lawsuit filed against him in July [by the Justice Department]. Authorities claim Retta violated a law called the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, or FACE. The law is supposed to protect women and their doctors, by letting the government set up buffer zones against people who block patients from entering clinics. The clinic in D.C. says Retta blocked a patient this year, following her for 35 feet and standing in front of the door. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/05/npr-lets-abortion-lobby-call-pro-lifers-potential-terrorists/

Media Ignores Report on How Abortion Clinics Target Minorities
It s no secret that the establishment press continues to serve as a virtual PR mouthpiece for Planned Parenthood. Among the canards employed in its defense is that the organization provides a wondrous array of reproductive health services.

Abby Johnson, a former Texas facility director for the organization and others have shown that abortion constitutes 98% of such services, and that taxpayer funds which aren t supposed to pay for abortions are routinely combined into one pot, not set aside for specific services.

For several years, Life Dynamics Incorporated has documented an even more sinister aspect of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry which its press defenders steadfastly refuse to call out, namely that it takes the lives of a disproportionate number of pre-born African-American and Hispanic babies. A new study by LDI ( Racial Targeting and Population Control ) shows that this result is no accident, as, in LDI s words, family planning clinics are disproportionately placed into minority neighborhoods (full PDF report; HT Life News; bolds are mine throughout; internal link added by me): . http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/05/media-ignores-report-on-how-abortion-clinics-target-minorities/

MP Slams Prime Minister Cameron Ahead of Abortion Debate
As members of the Parliament prepare for a debate on Wednesday over taking the abortion counseling provisions away from the abortion businesses that profit from selling women abortions, MP Nadine Dorries is slamming her own party s leader.

Dorries says Prime Minister David Cameron is gutless for saying the British government and establishment Conservative Party MPs would not support her amendment to have the health department conduct pre-abortion counseling rather than sending women to abortion agencies like BPAS and Marie Stopes, that merely sell women abortions. Cameron s decision reportedly came after lobbying from Troy MP Nick Clegg. http://www.lifenews.com/2011/09/05/mp-slams-prime-minister-cameron-ahead-of-abortion-debate/

Roe v. Wade Ethic Adversely Affecting America s Elderly
They say there are only two sure things in life: death and taxes.
