From Cardinal Newman Society: This is just sick, Georgetown

Our recent reports about Jesuit colleges and universities just turn my stomach: Georgetown is lauding "pro-choice" John Dingell as representing "the very best of our Georgetown tradition." Santa Clara's version of "ethics" is deadly. Gonzaga is referring students to work at Planned Parenthood and more. A Boston College journal article advocates abortion funding. And Fordham is cheering the advance of same-sex marriage. But I thank God for the Newman Guide colleges, which joined The Cardinal Newman Society in signing the U.S. bishops' statement on religious liberty. It was an historic joint effort with the Southern Baptists, and we're proud to be a part of it. And thank God for Archbishop Chaput! After the Newman Society brought it to his attention, he has taken a clear stand against dissent at Chestnut Hill College. Fairfield Settles Lawsuit Brought by Sex Abuse Victims Fairfield University is reporting that insurers for Fairfield and other parties settled a civil lawsuit, in which it was alleged that the University failed to protect the sexual abuse victims of a 1992 graduate.  Read more... Gonzaga Promotes Jobs Advocating Abortion, Same-Sex Marriage, Assisted Suicide |  Among the many listings for jobs posted are two for positions with Planned Parenthood clinics in Oregon. Deadly Ethics at Santa Clara University's Markkula Center Under the banner "Bioethics," the Jesuit institution's Markkula Center for Applied Ethics has a section on its website called "End of Life Ethics," in which it links to a pro-assisted suicide website called the Compassion in Dying Federation.  The Center describes the Federation: "Site provides information regarding end-of-life choices with advocacy for assisted death.  Also includes a good list of links."  Read more...
