THIS WEEK’S SAINTLY BISHOP
St. Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons
St. Irenaeus lived in a time where memory of the apostles still
lingered. As a priest, he was strongly influenced by St. Polycarp, who
had heard the apostles firsthand. St. Irenaeus had such zero-tolerance
for heresy he wrote a five-book treatise exposing the errors of his day
using Holy Scripture and the teachings of the Apostles. READ MORE

SUGGESTED PRAYER
O God, who made St. Irenaeus to be a teacher of Catholic Faith and and
example of apostolic fortitude, rouse up in your Church men after Your
own Heart, that they may govern her wisely and bravely.
FASTING IDEA
Spend thirty minutes in meaningful conversation with your spouse. Look
for times in the past few weeks when God sent blessings into your lives
but you and your spouse may not have been aware of them.

Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.
