Were there to be no support in the whole history of ethical and moral thought, were there no acknowledged confirmation from medical science, were the history of legal opinion to the contrary, we would still have to conclude on the basis of God's Holy Word that the unborn child is a person in the sight of God. He is protected by the sanctity of life graciously given to each individual by the Creator, Who alone places His image upon man and grants them any right to life which they have.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE: DAY 16: Planned Parenthood = abortion

Deacon John,

Planned Parenthood is preparing to celebrate its 100th anniversary ... yet many people have no idea that this organization does more than 300,000 abortions every year.

Prayer volunteers recently saw a young woman sitting on the curb outside Planned Parenthood -- in tears. They talked with her for a while, but she got up went into the building.

A few minutes later, a second woman pulled up. She said she was waiting for a friend who had an appointment.

That raised immediate concerns, and one of the vigil participants told her this was an abortion day. She was horrified ... and said she'd do what she could to help her friend.

The first woman then came back out of Planned Parenthood ... got into the car ... and told her friend she did not have an abortion.

Had it not been for the 40 Days for Life volunteers, the second woman might have been unaware of the true purpose of her friend's appointment ... only knowing Planned Parenthood's claim that it is a "health center" that provides "services" for women.

Keep spreading the word ... and as Planned Parenthood celebrates 100 years, educate yourself with this podcast episode on the abortion organization's history.

Even with temperatures in the 40s and rain, we just had the largest UNITED crowd yet -- more than 250 enthusiastic attendees at the Kansas statewide rally in Overland Park!

Thanks to the students from area schools who came out and the amazing local speakers! We also appreciate the Bott Radio Network, which is based here, for helping to promote the UNITED 40 Days for Life tour on more than 100 radio stations.

Planned Parenthood tried -- unsuccessfully -- to counter our big vigil stop in Columbia, Missouri. They pulled up along a busy road -- with a handful of abortion supporters holding the usual signs, along with one abortion advocate dressed in a tasteless costume (don't worry -- no pictures of that here!).

This didn't deter the exuberant crowd. After all, they're persistent! Their prayers and efforts have seen seven abortionists stop coming to this facility since 40 Days for Life began outside. While we were there, Planned Parenthood shut down early, and sent their nurse home!

Our day wrapped up with a huge statewide rally in St. Louis ... outside the only operating abortion facility in Missouri. This large Planned Parenthood center ends the lives of around 15 children every day.

Heartfelt prayers and uplifting speeches fired up the crowd ... encouraging them to renew their commitment to making Missouri abortion-free.

We've now completed 54 events in 21 states ... and we've traveled almost 5,500 miles. Now it's on to Illinois and Wisconsin!
