Media Crudeness Continues: Terri Schiavo Referred to as "Brain Dead Corpse"
Contact: Bobby Schindler, Terri's Foundation, (727) 490-7603ST. PETERSBURG, June 10 /- - It is not always clear whether or when Stephen Amidon is speaking in his own crude voice, or if he is regurgitating the prejudice of Charles Pierce in his review of Pierce's book: Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue in the Land of the Free.
But what is clear is that families caring for their brain injured loved ones have more compassion and understanding for the disabled than these two authors.
"To refer to my sister, Terri Schiavo, someone with a profound brain injury, as a 'brain dead . . .corpus,' is not only patently false but it is vulgar and offensive to her and to all people living with disabilities," stated Terri's brother, Bobby Schindler.
Sadly, it is people like Amidon and Pierce that repeatedly write and publish these kinds of articles having no regard for the pain it causes people with disabilities, as well as the parents and families of people who are in these types of brain injured conditions.
"It is no wonder we are seeing a growing acceptance to kill people like Terri because of such shameful displays of intolerance for our most vulnerable and defenseless American citizens," added Schindler.
