Troy Newman receives death threats again

What would you think if someone called your office and said, "I hope somebody comes and kills you all?"

Or what if someone left you a voicemail that said, "One of you is going to die?"

Apparently, the Obama administration's Justice Department is "playing favorites" when it comes to protecting the lives of Americans.

If you promote or provide abortions, Attorney General Eric Holder will dispatch U.S. Marshals to protect you when threatened.

But if you're not one of those privileged minority... you're out of luck. Even if you receive scores of death threats -- Eric Holder might as well say, "too bad for you."

After late-term abortionist George Tiller was gunned down by an extremist with no ties to any pro-life group, A.G. Holder pledged that the Department of Justice would do all it could to "deter violence against reproductive health care providers" and prosecute those who committed such acts:

"We will not tolerate murder or the threat of violence masquerading as political activism. Let me be clear, the Justice Department will use every tool at its disposal to protect the rights ensured under our constitution and we will do all that we can to deter violence against reproductive health care providers and prosecute those who use such violence to the fullest extent of the law."

So, we hear that if the "threat of violence" is against "reproductive health care providers" (in other words, abortionists) the Justice Department will prosecute them "to the fullest extent of the law."

In fact, Holder dispatched U.S. Marshals to protect abortion providers.

But when pro-life groups and providers of alternatives to abortion receive hundreds of threats of violence, what do we hear?

SILENCE.

No U.S. Marshals dispatched. No speeches condemning these threats. Not one single word or actionfrom the number one law enforcement official in the nation, about the need to protect peaceful pro-lifers from radical pro-abortionists.

That is WRONG -- and Washington needs to hear about it!

Last week, the Wichita Eagle ran a front-page story about threats of violence against Operation Rescue and other pro-life groups. They reported that numerous pro-life leaders now have to travel with bulletproof vests. They even reported that local authorities "were concerned that someone could seek retaliation for Tiller's death by attacking anti-abortion leaders."

What they didn't do was link to copies of e-mailed threats received by Operation Rescue. What theydidn't do was link to samples of audio threats received either.

You need to hear and see these... but we need to WARN you -- they contain strong and offensive language.

THAT is what we're facing: clear and specific death threats against pro-life people and organizations... and silence from the Attorney General of the United States -- the same one willing to "use every tool at its disposal" to "protect" abortionists and their friends.

We expected that Barack Obama would not be a friend to life; but we didn't expect the favoritism to be so blatant and so callous.

Let's not forget that report from the White House prior to the shooting, claiming that people who oppose abortion -- in fact, ALL conservatives of every stripe -- are "right-wing extremists" who could engage in violent or terrorist acts. THAT is why Eric Holder is saying and doing what he is -- the Obama administration has made it clear that they will "never let a crisis go to waste," so the shooting of a single abortionist by a lone gunman is just the opportunity they've been looking for to start cutting us off, NOT protecting us from imminent threats!

For example, just a few hours after the Tiller shooting, Mary Wilkinson was answering phones at the Wichita office of the pro-life group Kansans for Life when she got a call that stunned and scared her.

"This person was out of control, emotionally, you could just tell" -- speaking in a loud, angry tone about Tiller's killing.

She said she wanted to tell him, "We did not have anything to do with this... That's not what this organization is about. We were horrified about it and sad about it. Killing is never the answer."

But the person -- it sounded like a man, but she wasn't sure -- wouldn't let her "get a word in edgewise."

"I hope you're happy," the person said. "You've killed him. Now I hope somebody comes and kills you all."

At the office of the Kansas Coalition for Life, one person left a text message a few hours after the shooting: "One of you is going to die for what you did to Tiller."

In one message to me, a man said, "You're dead, punk." In another, a woman threatened my familyand me.

But guess who I haven't heard from?

That's right: U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

You see, he's too busy making speeches about "deterring violence against reproductive health care providers" at the Washington Lawyers' Committee conference, and dispatching the U.S. Marshals Service to protect "appropriate people and facilities around the nation," to bother with protecting people whose lives have been threatened.

The shooting of late-term abortionist George Tiller was WRONG, but this administration needs to know that ignoring threat to OUR side is JUST AS WRONG -- and that's exactly what we're letting them know... but we need YOUR help to make them listen!

To be honest, I'm very concerned for the safety of my family and friends who are making a stand for life every day. But I'm also very concerned that the Obama administration and other Democrats may try to capitalize on the murder of Tiller to defuse the abortion issue in upcoming Supreme Court confirmation hearings.

Like so many other pro-life leaders, I have condemned the killing of Tiller. But I'm also concerned that pro-abortion activists are going to use this incident to brand the entire pro-life movement as "extremist."

I'm also worried that there will now be an effort to stifle pro-life viewpoints during questioning of Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. Her exact views on abortion aren't known, but it's becoming more clear that she supports abortion rights.

No one should use this tragedy for political gain. But that's exactly what liberals in the Obama administration are doing!

And THAT is why they need to hear from the American people, that turning tragedy into a political football is WRONG.
