WICHITA, Kans., June 17 /Christian Newswire/ -- Leaders will leave flowers at the clinic to remember and honor the thousands of innocent children who died there and the women who were wounded.
Clergy will offer special prayer for the Tiller family.
Group will also host a series of prayer vigils at a local Wichita church and conduct a prayer walk through the city asking God to bring healing to Wichita and end the violence.
The name of the weekend event is called, "A time for healing...A time for life.

Saturday, June 20, at 8:00 A.M.
Gather at Living Word Outreach Church.
Group will walk along the entire length of Kellogg Ave. covering the boundaries of Wichita from west to east.
Saturday, June 20, at 12:00 Noon.

Prayer vigil at Living Word Outreach.
Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney, Director of the Washington, D.C. based Christian Defense Coalition, states,
"As members of the pro-life and faith community, we are coming together for a time of prayer and remembrance. We will be praying for the Tiller family as well as asking God to bring healing to the City of Wichita.
"We will also be asking God to end the violence both inside and outside of abortion clinics. Specifically, we will be praying that Wichita respects human rights and social justice and that no abortions would ever be performed in the city again.
"The activities will also include a time of remembering the 70,000 innocent children who lost their lives at Women's Health Care Services as well as the women who have been bruised and diminished through abortion.
"We will honor these children by holding an intimate prayer service and leaving thousands of flowers at the clinic.
"Now is the time for every American to work together for a nation in which violence has no place and human rights are embraced."
Rev. Mahoney is a lifelong advocate for peace and social justice. Some of his activities have included: The first American to walk the Dublin to Belfast Road for peace in Ireland, leading a peace and prayer delegation to pray with Prime Minister Maliki and Muslim leaders for the violence to end in Iraq, being a part of a delegation that held a public memorial service in Tiananmen Square for the students of the 1989 massacre as well as speaking out for religious freedom, free speech and human rights while in China
